Abstract

Groundsill is a construction built across a river to reduce the flow velocity and increase the rate of sediment deposition at the upstream part of groundsill. This is intended to secure the foundation of the bridge or other construction in the upstream groundsill, so that the structure of contruction upstream the river such as bridges or other water constructions are safe against erosion. Groundsill at Ulu Gadut River, Pauh Subdistrict - South Limau Manis Village is designed to stabilize the riverbed and prevent the PDAM’s weir in downstream of it from destruction. This groundsill is designed for 50 years return period flood discharge. Design rainfall is calculated by Polygon Thiessen method using 15 years of rainfall datas from two rain stasions with catchment area 13.41 km2. Four probability distributions, namely Normal, Log normal, Gumbel and Log Pearson type III were selected for frequency analysis of the precipitation data using return periods of 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, and 100 years respectively. Discharge analysis is calculated using three methods, namely Rasional, Weduwen, and HSS Nakayasu methods. Based on it, Q50 uses Weduwen method that is 173.657 m3/sec for calculating the dimensions of hydraulic groundsill. The groundsill is designed using ogee spillway and type of stilling basin “bak tenggelam” with its thickness 1.30 m and effective width of groundsill 19.5 m, the crest of groundsill is taken 1.5 m that best to secure the PDAM’s weir as far as ± 129 m upstream groundsill and high energy (H1) = 2.5 m. Based on stability analysis calculation in normal water condition, the safety number of overturning is 2.63 and the number of shear is 2.14. In flood water condition obtained the number of overturning is 4.05 and the number of shear is 6.90. The construction are stable and safe from overturning, sliding, and, bearing capacity of soil. Keywords: Degradation, Groundsill, Ogee Spillway, Stability of Groundsill, Ulu Gadut River Groundsill adalah bangunan yang dibangun melintang sungai yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi kecepatan arus dan meningkatkan laju pengendapan sedimen di bagian hulu groundsill. Hal ini dimaksudkan untuk mengamankan pondasi jembatan atau bangunan yang ada di hulu groundsill, sehingga struktur bangunan yang berada di bagian hulu sungai seperti jembatan atau bangunan air lainnya aman terhadap erosi. Perencanaan groundsill pada Sungai Ulu Gadut Kecamatan Pauh - Desa Limau Manis Selatan bertujuan untuk menstabilkan dasar sungai dan mencegah bangunan Bendung PDAM pada hilir groundsill dari kehancuran. Groundsill ini direncanakan dengan debit banjir periode ulang 50 tahun. Perhitungan curah hujan rencana dengan luas catchment 13.41 km2 menggunakan data curah hujan 15 tahun dari dua stasiun hujan yang berpengaruh menggunakan Metode Poligon Thiessen. Pemilihan jenis sebaran menggunakan beberapa metode yaitu distribusi normal, log normal, gumbel, dan log pearson tipe III dengan periode ulang 2 tahun, 5 tahun, 10 tahun, 25 tahun, 50 tahun dan 100 tahun. Analisis Q50 dihitung menggunakan tiga metode yaitu metode Rasional, Weduwen, dan HSS Nakayasu. Hasil perhitungan Q50 metode Weduwen sebesar 173.567 m3/det digunakan untuk perhitungan hidrolis Groundsill. Hasil analisis hidrolis diperoleh tipe mercu ogee serta tipe kolam olak bak tenggelam dengan tebal lantai kolam olak 1.30 m dan lebar efektif groundsill 19.5 m, tinggi groundsill diambil 1.5 m yang dianggap dapat mengamankan bendung PDAM yang berada ± 129 m di bagian hulu groundsill dan tinggi energi (H1) = 2.50 m. Pada perhitungan Stabilitas Groundsill dalam keadaan air normal didapat angka keamanan terhadap guling 2.63 dan angka terhadap keamanaan geser 2.14. Pada saat air keadaan banjir didapat angka keamanan terhadap guling 4.05 dan angka keamanan terhadap geser 6.90. Maka didapat konstruksi groundsill stabil.
