Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the Return on Asset (ROA) capability in mediating the effect of Earning Per Share (EPS), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Firm Size (assumed by the natural total asset logarithm) to the Company's Value Book Value. This study used a sample of 51 out of 144 manufacturing sector companies in BEI in 2017. The research method used path analysis. The results show that EPS, DER and Firm Size have no effect on ROA, DER and ROA have positive and significant effect on PBV, while EPS and Firm Size have no effect on PBV. ROA as an intervening variable is unable to mediate the influence of EPS, DER and Firm Size on company value. Keywords: Price Book Value (PBV), Return On Assets (ROA), Earning Per Share (EPS), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Firm Size Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan Return on Asset (ROA) dalam memediasi pengaruh Earning Per Share (EPS), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Firm Size (diproksikan dengan logaritma natural total asset) terhadap nilai perusahaan (Price Book Value). Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel 51 dari 144 perusahaan sektor manufaktur yang ada di BEI tahun 2017. Metode penelitian menggunakan analisa jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan EPS, DER dan Firm Size tidak berpengaruh terhadap ROA, DER dan ROA berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap PBV, sedangkan EPS dan Firm Size tidak berpengaruh terhadap PBV. ROA sebagai variabel intervening tidak mampu memediasi pengaruh EPS, DER dan Firm Size terhadap nilai perusahaan.
