Abstract

PT Komatsu Undercarriage Indonesia is a company engaged in the heavy equipment industry. The company produces heavy equipment spare parts in the form of components and a single undercarriage. This study purpose to analyze the raw material inventory control applied by the company, analyze the control of raw material inventories by using the method of economic order quantity (EOQ) whether it can control the supply of steel round bar raw materials. The object of research is the control of raw material inventory by the company. The data analysis method used in this research is descriptive analysis method with a comparative approach that is used to discuss the comparison of the determination of raw material inventories applied by the company and the determination of inventory of raw materials using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method. The results of this study found that the application of the EOQ method can streamline the ordering of steel round bar raw materials compared to if the company orders every month or once a year. Keywords: Inventory, Economic Order Quantity, Safety Stock, Reorder Point. PT Komatsu Undercarriage Indonesia merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri alat berat. Perusahaan ini memproduksi spare parts alat berat baik dalam bentuk komponen-komponen maupun satu kesatuan undercarriage. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengendalian persediaan bahan baku yang diterapkan perusahaan, menganalisa pengendalian persediaan bahan baku dengan menggunakan metode economic order quantity (EOQ) apakah dapat mengendalikan persediaan bahan baku steel round bar. Objek penelitian adalah pengendalian persediaan bahan baku yang dilakukan perusahaan. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis deskriptif dengan pendekatan komparatif yang dipergunakan untuk membahas mengenai perbandingan penentuan persediaan bahan baku yang diterapkan perusahaan dan penentuan persediaan bahan baku dengan metode Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan penerapan metode EOQ dapat mengefisiensikan pemesanan bahan baku steel round bar dibandingkan jika perusahaan mengadakan pemesanan setiap bulan ataupun satu kali dalam satu tahun. Kata Kunci: Persediaan, Economic Order Quantity, Safety Stock, Reorder Point.
