Abstract

High demand for work both in quality and quantity make education continue to pursue and adjust so that students are able to compete and "demanded" in the job demand market. Higher education is one of the qualifications required by several companies and several fields of work in the world of work. Working students have to study while working in order to pay for their own tuition. So that student workers who face both situations at one time are working and studying. With these conditions, the individual will face quite heavy problems and pressures. Overcoming this pressure requires a strong personality (hardiness) and strong resilience to survive and keep going even when in a downturn. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of hardiness on resilience of the regular students of Mercubuana University 2. Sampling was carried out by non-probability sampling technique using G-power estimate with the criteria for alpha (α) value of 0.05 and beta (β) of 0.99. Based on these criteria, a total sample size of at least 84 was found. Thus, the minimum sample size criterion to be used by researchers was 84. Measuring instruments in this study were a modification of the School related Hardiness Meassure and a modification of the Resilience Quotent Test. The results obtained are that there is an effect of hardiness on the resilience of FPSI Mercubuana students with r square = 0.470 at the significance level = 0.000 and an F value of 72.59 (df = 1) with a positive direction, meaning that people who have higher hardiness have a tendency to resilience. tall one. Conversely, people who have lower hardiness have a tendency to lower resilience. Keywords: hardiness, resilience, students Tuntutan permintaan kebutuhan kerja yang tinggi baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitas membuat pendidikan terus mengejar dan menyesuaikan agar peserta didiknya mampu bersaing dan “laku” di pasaran permintaan kerja. Pendidikan tinggi merupakan salah satu kualifikasi yang diminta beberapa perusahaan dan beberapa bidang pekerjaan dalam dunia kerja. Mahasiswa pekerja harus menjalani perkuliahan sambil bekerja agar dapat membiayai perkuliahan mereka sendiri. Sehingga mahasiswa pekerja yang menghadapi kedua situasi dalam satu waktu yaitu bekerja dan kuliah. Dengan kondisi seperti ini individu tersebut tentu menghadapi berbagai persoalan dan tekanan yang cukup berat. Dalam mengatasi tekanan ini dibutuhkan kepribadian tangguh (hardiness) dan resiliensi yang kuat untuk tetap bertahan dan terus melangkah walaupun dalam keadaan terpuruk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh hardiness terhadap resiliensi pada mahasiswa reguler 2 Universitas Mercubuana. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik non probability sampling dengan menggunakan G-power estimate dengan kriteria nilai alpha (α) sebesar 0.05 dan beta (β) sebesar 0.99. berdasarkan kriteria tersebut didapati nilai total sample size sebesar minimal 84. Dengan demikian, kriteria minimal sampel size yang akan digunakan oleh peneliti adalah sebesar 84. Alat ukur pada penelitian ini adalah modifikasi School related Hardiness Meassure dan modifikasi Resilience Quotent Test. Hasil penelitian yang didapat adalah ada pengaruh hardiness terhadap resiliensi pada mahasiswa FPSI Mercubuana dengan r square = 0.470 pada taraf signifikansi = 0.000 dan nilai F sebesar 72.59 (df = 1) dengan arah pengaruh yang positif, artinya orang yang mempunyai hardiness lebih tinggi memiliki kecenderungan resiliensi yang tinggi. Sebaliknya, orang yang mempunyai hardiness lebih rendah memiliki kecenderungan resiliensi yang rendah. Kata kunci : Hardiness, Resiliensi, Pelajar.
