Abstract

Penelitian kualitatif ini dilatarbelakangi adanya kesulitan guru dalam membangun pemahaman murid tentang makna pelecehan seksual, apalagi untuk murid yang berusia sekolah dasar di Kota Tangerang Selatan yang telah mendapatkan penghargaan sebagai Kota Layak Anak. Faktanya angka pelecehan seksual pada anak masih tinggi dan semakin meningkat. Agar murid terhindar dari pelecehan seksual tentu perlu pemahaman. Guru selain bertugas menyampaikan pelajaran, juga mempunyai peran dalam membangun pemahaman makna pelecehan seksual pada muridnya. Ada beberapa guru yang tidak paham dan bahkan menjadi pelaku pelecehan seksual. Hal tersebut kemudian menjadi alasan dilakukannya penelitian ini yang bertujuan untuk mengkonstruksi, mengungkap, dan mengembangkan model komunikasi tentang pengalaman, saluran, dan hambatan dalam membangun pemahaman makna pelecehan seksual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus, paradigma konstruktivis, dan jenis penelitian kualitatif. Sebagai landasan teori, digunakan Teori Interaksi Simbolik mazhab Herbert Blumer dengan teknik wawancara mendalam kepada tiga belas informan. Hasil dan simpulan yang dapat diambil adalah cara berpikir guru dan murid cenderung deduktif walaupun ada juga yang berpikir secara induktif, lalu juga sudah dilakukan sesuai dengan peraturan sekolah dan adanya kesepakatan melalui pengajaran, nasihat, teguran, hukuman hingga pendampingan secara psikis yang melibatkan orang tua murid. Saluran untuk mendapatkan informasi, membangun pengetahuan, pemahaman, persuasi hingga keputusan pada guru dan murid adalah melalui media cetak, saluran komunikasi kelompok dan antarpribadi, media sosial, dan media audio visual. Hambatan terbesar adalah hambatan perilaku dan hambatan latar belakang. Kata Kunci: Pelecehan Seksual, Interaksi Simbolik, Guru, Murid This qualitative research is motivated by the difficulty of teachers in building students' understanding of the meaning of sexual harassment, especially for elementary school students in South Tangerang City who have received an award as a Child Friendly City. In fact, the number of sexual abuse against children is still high and increasing. In order for students to avoid sexual harassment, they certainly need understanding. Apart from delivering lessons, the teacher also has a role in building an understanding of the meaning of sexual harassment in students. There are some teachers who do not understand and even become perpetrators of sexual harassment. This then becomes the reason for conducting this research which aims to construct, reveal, and develop a communication model about experiences, channels, and barriers in building an understanding of the meaning of sexual harassment. This research uses case study methods, constructivist paradigm, and qualitative research types. As a theoretical basis, the Herbert Blumer School of Symbolic Interaction Theory was used with in-depth interviews with thirteen informants. The results and conclusions that can be drawn are that the way teachers and students think tend to be deductive, although there are also those who think inductively, then it has also been done in accordance with school regulations and there is an agreement through teaching, advice, reprimands, punishments and psychological assistance involving parents. Channels for obtaining information, building knowledge, understanding, persuasion and decisions on teachers and students are through print media, group and interpersonal communication channels, social media and audio-visual media.
