Abstract
The Tambun LPG refinery uses a G-3512 gas engine which functions as an initial drive for the screw compressor in the cooling system (tag number; Austcold C) to liquefy natural gas from the gas phase to the liquid phase so that it is easily separated in the LPG purification process. With frequent damage to the components of a gas engine the right method is needed to be able to improve its reliability. Failure analysis is done quantitatively and qualitatively. Qualitative analysis was carried out using the causal method, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The results of the FMEA analysis and risk priority number (RPN) for engine damage by overheating showed the highest RPN value was 252 due to a dead-core radiator, so routine replacement and cleaning had to be done. Whereas the quantitative analysis uses the calculation of the reliability value then it is verified using the process hierarchy analytic model (AHP). Where actions to improve the reliability of gas engines are better determined by the operating schedule with a value of 0.267, then the second priority is influenced by risk analysis with the FMEA method that is equal to 0.224, maintenance of the engine operator in accordance with standard operating procedures with the application of Total Productive Maintenance then becomes the third priority with a value 0.201, this implies that the reliability of engine gas can be maintained and improved by minimizing failures through analyzing potential risks to the system and component parts of the engine and analyzing the occurrence of component damage from a previous fault history. Keyword: Reliability, Overheating, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Total Productive Maintenance, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Kilang LPG Tambun menggunakan mesin gas G-3512 yang berfungsi sebagai penggerak awal untuk sekrup kompresor dalam sistem pendingin (nomor tag; Austcold C) yang berfungsi mencairkan gas alam dari fase gas ke fase cair sehingga mudah dipisahkan dalam proses pemurnian LPG. Dengan sering terjadinya kerusakan pada komponen-komponen mesin gas tersebut diperlukan metode yang tepat untuk dapat meningkatkan keandalannya. Analisis kegagalan dilakukan secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Analisis kualitatif dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kausal, Mode Kegagalan dan Analisis Efek (FMEA). Hasil analisis FMEA dan nomor prioritas risiko (RPN) untuk kerusakan mesin dengan overheating menunjukkan nilai RPN tertinggi adalah 252 karena radiator tersumbat, sehingga penggantian dan pembersihan rutin harus dilakukan. Sedangkan analisis kuantitatif menggunakan perhitungan nilai keandalan kemudian diverifikasi menggunakan analitik hierarki proses model (AHP). Dimana tindakan untuk meningkatkan keandalan mesin gas lebih baik ditentukan oleh jadwal pengoperasian dengan nilai 0.267, maka prioritas kedua dipengaruhi oleh analisis risiko dengan metode FMEA yaitu sebesar 0.224, perawatan operator mesin sesuai dengan standar operasi prosedur dengan penerapan total productive maintenance kemudian menjadi prioritas ketiga dengan nilai 0,201, ini menyiratkan bahwa keandalan gas engine dapat dipertahankan dan ditingkatkan dengan meminimalkan kegagalan melalui analisis risiko potensial pada sistem dan bagian komponen dari mesin dan menganalisis terjadinya kerusakan komponen dari histori kerusakan sebelumnya.
