Abstract

Quality road pavement is needed to ensure the safety and comfort of its users. However, on some roads, especially in DKI Jakarta, it is located or in contact with the river, so it is often inundated by river water that overflows when it rains and can affect the physical condition of the road. This happened also on one of the roads in the Joglo area precisely on road Asoka Raya, West Jakarta. During heavy rains, the river overflows and inundates the road which causes pavement on the road to be damaged if too long submerged by overflowing river water. From these problems, it is necessary to do research on the effect of the overflowing of river water over the characteristics of the asphalt mixture on the surface layer at road Asoka Raya, Joglo, West Jakarta. In this study the researchers used asphalt mixture with pen 60/70 and the testing methods carried out included testing with the Marshall method. This test aims to obtain the characteristics of a mixture of asphalt pen 60/70 and its effect on river water. This study was conducted to determine the parameter values of VIM (Void In Mix), VMA (Void In Mineral Aggregate), VFA (Void In Filled with Asphalt), Flow, Stability and MQ (Marshall Quotient). Soaking time used is continuous immersion for 24 hours, 48 hours and 72 hours. The first test is the examination of fine and coarse aggregates, then testing the asphalt and finally testing the water content. The bitumen content used is 5%, 6% and 7%, the optimum asphalt level (KAO) is 6.8%. Furthermore, the effect of river water and clean water immersion to obtain VIM, VMA, VFA, Flow, Stability and MQ values. VMA, VIM and Flow values increase with the length of immersion time while VFA values, stability and MQ decrease with length of immersion time. Keywords : AC-WC, characteristics of asphalt mixture, Marshall, river water Perkerasan jalan yang berkualitas diperlukan untuk menjamin keamanan dan kenyamanan para penggunanya. Namun pada beberapa ruas jalan khususnya di DKI Jakarta itu terletak atau bersinggungan dengan sungai, sehingga seringkali tergenang air sungai yang meluap ketika hujan turun dan dapat mempengaruhi kondisi fisik pada jalan tersebut. Hal ini terjadi juga pada salah satu jalan di daerah Joglo tepatnya di Jalan Asoka Raya, Jakarta Barat. Pada saat hujan deras, air sungai meluap lalu menggenangi jalan tersebut yang menyebabkan perkerasan pada jalan itu akan mengalami kerusakan jika terlalu lama terendam air sungai yang meluap. Dari permasalahan itu, maka perlu dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh lamanya genangan air sungai yang meluap terhadap karakteristik campuran aspal pada lapis permukaan di Jalan Asoka Raya, Joglo, Jakarta Barat. Pada penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan campuran aspal dengan pen 60/70 dan metode pengujian yang dilakukan antara lain pengujian dengan metode Marshall. Pengujian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan karakteristik campuran aspal pen 60/70 dan pengaruhnya terhadap air sungai. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui nilai parameter yaitu VIM (Void In Mix), VMA (Void In Mineral Agregate), VFA (Void In Filled with Asphalt), Kelelehan (Flow), Stabilitas dan MQ (Marshall Quotient). Waktu perendaman yang digunakan ialah perendaman secara menerus selama 24 jam, 48 jam dan 72 jam. Pengujian pertama adalah pemeriksaan agregat halus dan kasar, kemudian pengujian aspal dan terakhir pengujian kandungan air. Kadar aspal yang digunakan adalah 5%,6% dan 7% didapatkan kadar aspal optimum (KAO) sebesar 6,8%. Selanjutnya pengaruh rendaman air sungai dan air bersih untuk mendapatkan nilai VIM, VMA, VFA, Kelelehan, Stabilitas dan MQ. Nilai VMA, VIM dan kelelehan mengalami kenaikan terhadap lamanya waktu rendaman sedangkan nilai VFA, stabilitas dan MQ mengalami penurunan terhadap lamanya waktu rendaman.
