Abstract
The development of technology in the mass media industry has developed very rapidly both in quantity and quality. Various forms of media that have developed have created a serious debate about the agenda in the public discussion in general in society and the role of mass media in contributing to social problems. The use of computer technology and information systems has created new media such as online media (.com) and social media, which in turn creates its own audience, one of the characteristics of new audiences is interaction in cyberspace. News produced by the media and the interests or needs of the public have a pretty close relationship to editorial decisions, have experienced a shift, they indicate that the current phenomenon is not about what issues the media will convey to the public, but rather what issues are being addressed. think audiences to convey to the media. This research will examine the intermedia relationship between agenda setting between digital mainstream media, namely the online news site JPNN.com and RMOL.id, to the hashtagh trending topic on Twitter during the determination of 2019 Election results between 20-26 May 2019. Hypothesis submitted in the research This is a positive reciprocal relationship between JPNN.com's online media headlines and RMOL.id on the hashtag trending topic on Twitter. The results of the study cannot prove the hypothesis that there is a reciprocal relationship between the agenda of online news sites and Twitter. The two online news sites have not yet made Twitter as the main reference source for news, Twitter and other social media are currently only used as media to promote news links and their web portal. Keywords : Agenda Setting; Online Media; Twitter; Presidential Election. Perkembangan teknologi pada industri media massa telah berkembang sangat pesat baik secara kuantitas maupun secara kualitas. Berbagai macam bentuk media yang berkembang telah menciptakan perdebatan yang serius mengenai agenda yang di perbincangkan publik secara umum di masyarakat dan peran media massa dalam berkontribusi terhadap masalah sosial. Pemanfaatan teknologi komputer dan sistem informasi telah menciptakan adanya media baru seperti media online (.com) dan sosial media yang pada akhirnya menciptakan khalayak tersendiri, salah satu karakteristik khalayak baru adalah interaksi di media siber. Berita yang diproduksi oleh media dan kepentingan atau kebutuhan publik memiliki keterkaitan yang cukup erat terhadap keputusan redaksi, telah mengalami pergeseran, mereka mengindikasikan bahwa fenomena saat ini adalah bukan mengenai isu-isu apa yang akan disampaikan media kepada khalayak, namun menjadi isu-isu apa yang khalayak pikirkan untuk disampaikan kepada media. Penelitian ini akan meneliti hubungan timbal balik intermedia agenda setting antara media mainstream digital yaitu situs berita online JPNN.com dan RMOL.id terhadap hashtagh trending topic di twitter selama masa penetapan hasil Pemilu 2019 antara tanggal 20 - 26 Mei 2019. Hipotesa yang diajukan pada penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan timbal balik yang positif antara tajuk berita media online JPNN.com dan RMOL.id terhadap hashtag trending topic di twitter. Hasil dari penelitian tidak dapat membuktikan hipotesis bahwa terdapat hubungan timbal balik antara agenda situs berita online dan twitter. Kedua situs berita online belum menjadikan twitter sebagai referensi utama sumber berita, twitter dan sosial media yang lain saat ini masih hanya menjadi media untuk mempromosikan link berita dan web portalnya.
