Abstract
Nowdays, demand of motorcycles have been growth every years and need to be taken seriously by manufacturer. With limited of production time and increased of amount and variations of dies, some improvement must be done to get more quantity of produced motorcycles. In this case study, Single Exchange Minute of Die (SMED) applied in the die casting production line, especially in High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) DC800T Machine, to minimize setup time and simplify changeover activities. The results show that some improved activities can minimized setup time and simplified the changeover process. Value of effective working time has been increased, from 78.69% to 82.17%. And setup time, can be reduced by 61.12%, from 3.238 seconds to 1.259 seconds. This means that although the number of dies has increased from 147 dies to 162 dies in 2019, the utilization of DC800T machines can still be reduced from 12 machines to 11 machines. So, there is one avalaible DC800T that can be use for increase motorcycle unit of PT XYZ. Keyword : Productivity, Dies, Changeover, Setup, SMED Saat ini, permintaan unit sepeda motor terus meningkat tiap tahun, dan hal ini perlu ditanggapi dengan serius oleh pihak pabrikan. Keterbatasan waktu produksi dan peningkatan jumlah serta variasi cetakan, mengharuskan dilakukannya beberapa improvement untuk dapat memproduksi lebih banyak jumlah sepeda motor. Dalam studi kasus ini, Single Exchange Minute of Die (SMED) diterapkan pada lini produksi die casting, terutama di mesin DC800T High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC), untuk meminimalkan waktu setup dan menyederhanakan aktivitas changeover dies. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa beberapa aktivitas yang diimprove, dapat meminimalkan waktu setup dan menyederhanakan proses changeover dies. Nilai Effective Working Time dapat meningkat, dari 78,69% menjadi 82,17%. Dan waktu setup, dapat dikurangi sebesar 61,12%, dari 3,238 detik menjadi 1,259 detik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa meski kebutuhan dies tahun 2019 meningkat, dari 147 dies menjadi 162 dies, utilisasi produksi untuk mesin DC800T dapat dikurangi dari 12 mesin menjadi 11 mesin. Sehingga terdapat satu mesin DC800T yang bisa digunakan untuk menambah produktivitas unit sepeda motor di PT XYZ. Kata Kunci : Produktivitas, Dies, Changeover, Setup, SMED
