Abstract
Coffee farming is still identify as a side profession, because on the other hand, the farmers grow coffee, they also grow other crops. The reason is, coffee trees can only be harvested once a year, so many farmers are looking for side jobs to increase their income while waiting for their coffee trees to harvest again. The location of the problem for coffee farmers in Indonesia is that there are still many of them who tend to be less skill in managing and managing capital and profits from their crops. Then here the author finds a farmer group that applies ecology planting initiated by a farmer chief who has successfully implemented his coffee planting in an ecological manner, with the aim of making the social economy prosperous in a sustainable and sustainable manner. The author is interesting in this phenomenon and it is also what makes me choose the theme of coffee farmers in the documentary film, the author focus is in the economy of coffee farmers and the concept of ecology planting. In making of this documentary, the writer looks for sources who have credibility, including the head of the Jayagiri village, Lembang, West Bandung districts farmer group, environmental practitioners, and loyal consumers of Jayagiri coffee products. Key Word: Farm, Coffee, Coffee Farmer, Jayagiri, Lembang, Ecology, Economy¬ Pekerjaan bertani kopi masih diidentikan dengan profesi sampingan, pasalnya pohon kopi hanya bisa panen sekali dalam setahun maka para petani pun banyak yang mencari pekerjaan sampingan untuk menambah penghasilan sembari menunggu masa panen kembali pohon kopi mereka. Permasalahan yang sering terjadi bagi petani kopi di Indonesia yaitu kurangnya pengetahuan bertani secara efisien baik dalam mengatur dan memanajemen antara modal dan laba dari hasil panen tanamannya dan juga tata cara penanaman kopi. Kemudian di sini penulis menemukan suatu kelompok tani yang menerapkan penanaman secara ekologi yang diprakarsai oleh seorang kepala tani yang berhasil menerapkan penanaman kopinya secara ekologi, dengan tujuan untuk mensejahterakan ekonomi sosial secara berkelanjutan dan berkesinambungan. Penulis tertarik dengan fenomena tersebut dan hal itu pula yang menjadikan penulis memilih tema petani kopi pada film dokumenter, fokus penulis adalah ekonomi petani kopi dan konsep penanaman ekologi. Dalam pembuatan film dokumenter ini penulis mencari narasumber yang memiliki kredibiltas, diantaranya terdapat ketua kolompok tani desa Jayagiri Lembang, Kabupaten Bandung Barat, praktisi lingkungan, dan para konsumen setia produk kopi Jayagiri.
