Abstract
PT Masolikalerindo Perkasa is a company engaged in manufacturing that produces plastic ore products, the quality phenomenon that occurred during February-July 2018 at PT Masolikalerindo Perkasa there was a high number of plastic ore defects of 20746.8 Kg, equivalent to 20.74689 tons on the engine triple parch that produces black plastic ore. With this phenomenon, this study aims to determine the highest types of defects and provide recommendations for improvements with the DMAIC method (Define, Measure, Analys, Improvement, Control). The results obtained indicate that the highest type of defect using the Pareto diagram is the defect of water content included in the reject group, the frequency that is owned 119 times and has a percentage of 48%. So the recommendations obtained using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analys, Improvement, Control) method to minimize defects in high water content are installing temperature gauges, temperature control devices in the raw material warehouse and providing SOPs ( Standard Operating Procedure). Keywords: DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analys, Improvement, Control)., Quality, product defect, Pareto diagram PT Masolikalerindo Perkasa merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang manufaktur yang menghasilkan produk bijih plastik putih dan hitam, fenomena kualitas yang terjadi selama bulan Februari-Juli 2018 di PT Masolikalerindo Perkasa terdapat tingginya defect bijih plastik sebesar 20746,8 Kg atau setara dengan 20,74689 ton yang berada pada mesin parel tiga yang memproduksi bijih plastik hitam. Dengan fenomena tersebut maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis defect yang tertinggi dan memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan dengan metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analys, Improvement, Control). Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa jenis defect tertinggi dengan menggunakan diagram pareto yaitu defect kadar air yang termasuk kedalam golongan afkir, frekuensi yang dimiliki 119 kali dan memiliki persentase 48%. Maka rekomendasi yang diperoleh menggunakan metode DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analys, Improvement, Control) untuk meminimalisir defect kadar air tinggi adalah memasang alat pengukur suhu (Termometer), alat pengatur suhu (AC/Exhaust Fan) didalam gudang bahan baku serta memberikan SOP (Standar Operasional Procedure).
