Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Company Size, Net Profit Margin and Financial Leverage on Income Smoothing for the period 2015 - 2017. The method of determining the sample using purposive sampling. The selected sample was 59 predetermined criteria. The independent variables in this study are Company Size, Net Profit Margin and Financial Leverage. While the dependent variable is income smoothing. The analysis technique used in this study is descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis using the SPSS version 2.0 program. The results showed that the variable size of the company and financial leverage negatively affected income smoothing while the variable net profit margin had no effect on income smoothing. Keywords: Company Size, Net Profit Margin, Financial Leverage, and Income Smoothing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh Ukuran Perusahaan, Net Profit Margin dan Financial Leverage terhadap Tindakan Perataan Laba selama periode 2015 – 2017. Metode penentuan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel yang terpilih sebanyak 59 kriteria yang telah ditentukan. Adapun variabel independen dalam penelitian ini adalah Ukuran Perusahaan, Net Profit Margin dan Financial Leverage. Sedangkan variabel dependen yaitu Perataan Laba. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik deskriptif dan analisis regresi logistik menggunakan program SPSS versi 2.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel ukuran perusahaan dan financial leverage berpengaruh negatif terhadap tindakan perataan laba sedangkan untuk variabel net profit margin tidak berpengaruh terhadap tindakan perataan laba . Kata Kunci : Ukuran Perusahaan, Net Profit Margin, Financial Leverage, dan Tindakan Perataan Laba.
