Abstract

The use of Internet as an information technology has greatly expanded access to education. Many organizations or companies provide distance learning, also called elearning or online learning with web-based learning. The most important thing to consider in building a website is how the interface design of a website can make users do not feel confused in using the website. Suddenly to solve the problem and successful in e-learning, necessarily design the website with consideration such as principles of user interface design and basic design principles, making online learning websites are user friendly. Keywords: website, e-Learning, online learning, website elements, basic principles of user interface. Penggunaan teknologi informasi internet sekarang ini sudah mengarah ke dunia pendidikan. Sudah banyak pelaku bisnis ataupun perorangan yang menyediakan jasa pembelajaran jarak jauh atau online learning (e-learning) berbasis web-based. Hal terpenting yang perlu diperhatikan dalam membangun sebuah website adalah bagaimana desain user interface sebuah website bisa membuat user (pengguna) tidak merasa kebingungan dalam menggunakan website tersebut. Maka untuk mengatasi masalah yang terjadi dan mencapai kesuksesan dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh atau online learning (e-learning), diperlukan perancanangan sebuah website yang mempertimbangkan aspek seperti, prinsip dasar desain user interface, dan prinsip dasar desain, sehingga menjadikan website online learning (e-learning) yang user friendly dalam penggunannya.
