Abstract
Infidelity is an overwhelmed emotional and physical journey. The research was intended to overview how a wife surviving infidelity. The research titled Coping Stress Strategy to wife toward infidelity in 5 years marriage and above is the qualitative research that will find a different person overcome their negative feeling and be able to cope with, as there is a certain condition that urge a wife to live with recent condition when the affairs is disclosed. This research is a qualitative research which evaluates wives who has married more than 5 years and subject; 2 subject are using Problem-focused coping which indicated by planful problem solving while 2 other subject are using emotion-focused coping which indicated by distancing and seeking social support. The similarity in the four subjects is found that extramarital affairs occurs in the marriage above 5 years (12 years, 16 years, 10 years and 23 years) and the way of disclosure of the affair is through cellphones furthermore the woman who became their husband's affair was a woman who had been known by their husband (friend, old friend, patient and neighbor) Keywords: : Infidelity, coping stress, marriage! surviving infidelity. The research using interview and observation as a method and also using triangulation technique to support the data by interviewing their significant other. The result shows that infidelity is creating stressful environment that lead to a negative feeling such as anger, suspicious, loss of trust. Coping strategy in this research is equally spread by both coping stress strategy among the Perselingkuhan merupakan perjalanan emosi dan fisik yang sangat melelahkan, Skrispsi ini adalah hasil penelitian kualitatif dengan judul Strategi Coping Stress Pada Istri Terhadap Perselingkuhan Suami Dalam Pernikahan Diatas 5 Tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana seorang istri mengatasi stress yang ditimbulkan dari perselingkuhan suami karena banyak kondisi yang memaksa istri untuk tetap bertahan dengan perasaan negatif yang dimilikinya setelah perselingkuhan terungkap. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif. Sampel dari penelitian adalah istri yang mengalami perselingkuhan suami dengan usia pernikahan di atas 5 tahun. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode wawancara dan observasi juga dengan triangulasi sumber data dari orang terdekat subyek. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perselingkuhan dapat menjadi sumber stress yang luar biasa sehingga menimbulkan banyak perasaan negatif seperti amarah, curiga dan hilangnya rasa percaya terhadap pasangan. Coping stress yang dilakukan seimbang diantara keempat subyek, 2 subyek melakukan problem-focused coping yaitu planful problem solving sementara 2 subyek lainnya menggunakan emotion-focused coping yaitu distancing dan seeking social support. Kesamaan pada keempat subyek adalah perselingkuhan terjadi pada pernikahan diatas 5 tahun (12 tahun, 16 tahun, 10 tahun dan 23 tahun), juga cara pengungkapan perselingkuhan melalui handphone dan perempuan yang menjadi selingkuhan suami adalah perempuan yang sudah dikenal oleh suami (teman, teman lama, pasien dan tetangga).
