Abstract
A pop-up book is a type of book or card in which there are folds of cropped images that appear to form a three-dimensional layer when the page is opened. Local pop-up books are in circulation, mostly using simple techniques, and using only one technique per page. Exploration of pop-up techniques and the combining of techniques more applied by import pop-up books. On the other hand, Indonesia is an archipelago with a very high potential for natural disasters. From that reason, we as Indonesian citizens cannot avoid disaster. The lack of socialization and information to children makes the number of children affected by the disaster. But until now the children have not received enough attention regarding the knowledge and understanding of the threat of disasters that occur in the neighborhood. The need for supporting facilities in recognizing and overcoming disasters in children, so since childhood they have understood emergency situations. Pop-up media can be one of the learning media at home or in the classroom in recognizing and learning about disaster management. The need for new techniques in the pop-up book by combining several techniques to attract children's interest in reading with more interactive content. Key word: Disaster, Pop-up Book, Pop-up Technique Buku pop-up adalah jenis buku atau kartu yang di dalamnya terdapat lipatan gambar yang dipotong dan muncul membentuk lapisan tiga dimensi ketika halaman tersebut dibuka Buku popup lokal yang beredar, kebanyakan menggunakan teknik yang sederhana, dan hanya menggunkan 1 teknik saja dalam setiap halamannya. Eksplorasi teknik pop-up dan penggabungan teknik lebih banyak diaplikasikan oleh buku-buku pop-up impor. Di lain sisi, Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan dengan potensi bencana alam sangat tinggi. Dari alasan itulah, kita sebagai penduduk Indonesia tidak bisa menghindari bencana. Minimnya sosialisasi dan informasi kepada anak membuat banyaknya anak-anak yang menjadi korban bencana. Namun hingga saat ini anak-anak belum mendapatkan perhatian yang cukup terkait pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang ancaman bencana yang terjadi di lingkungan tempat tinggalnya. Perlunya sarana pendukung dalam mengenali dan menanggulangi bencana pada anak, sehingga sejak kecil mereka sudah paham menghadapi situasi darurat. Media pop-up bisa menjadi salah satu media pembelajaran di rumah atau di dalam kelas dalam mengenali serta mempelajari cara penanggulangan bencana. Perlunya teknik baru di dalam buku pop-up dengan penggabungan beberapa teknik untuk menarik minat anak membaca dengan konten yang lebih interaktif. Kata Kunci: Bencana, Buku Pop-up, Teknik Pop-up
