Bisa dikatakan bahwa perguruan tinggi merupakan tempat kuliah para mahasiswa yang teridiri dari berbagai macam mahasiswa/i yang memiliki bakat, minat, kompetensi, dan motivasi yang berbeda-beda. Memilih jurusan bukanlah hal yang mudah terlebih saat ini banyak sekali pilihan Universitas yang tersedia. Di Jakarta Barat sendiri memiliki banyak perguruan tinggi yang menyediakan berbagai macam jurusan. Dari masalah sosial yang ada, banyaknya keluhan tentang kesalahan dalam memilih Universitas serta jurusan, salah satunya adalah karna kurangnya informasi di awal mengenai Universitas serta jurusan yang dituju. Yang mana hal ini akan berakibat buruk bagi para calon mahasiswa/i tersebut ketika ia menjalani masa kuliah terlebih di tahun kedua dan tahun ketiga. Mulai dari pindah jurusan, hingga memilih untuk berhenti menjalani perkuliahan. Hal ini tentu akan merugikan mahasiswa/i itu sendiri, baik dari segi biaya, waktu, juga tenaga. Sebaiknya, bagi para calon mahasisa/i baru sebelum ia memilih Universitas serta jurusan yang akan ia jalankan, ia harus mengenali minat diri sendiri, serta kemampuan yang ia benar-benar kuasai. Karna dengan memilih Universitas serta jurusan yang sesuai dengan minat individu akan memberikan semangat dan kenyamanan dalam belajar. Namun sebaliknya, jika berada dalam Universitas serta jurusan yang salah akan menghambat dan memberikan tekanan dalam belajar sehingga perkuliahan akan terganggu. Tentu hal itu sangat disayangkan.. Dengan adanya Aplikasi Informasi Universitas diwilayah Jakarta barat serta forum mahasiswa baru ini dapat membantu para calon mahasiswa baru agar dapat mengetahui informasi Universitas maupun jurusan yang ingin mereka tuju agar kelak tidak salah dan berhenti ditengah perkuliahan.
