Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between selfcontrol and achievement motivation among adolescent smartphone addiction. Research was done by total sampling’s technique within 147 of participants. The measuremnet tool in this research is a the smartphone addiction scales based on the smartphone addiction indicator proposed by Kwon (2013), and the self-control scale based on the self-control dimensions proposed by Tangney et al. (2004), as well as the scale of achievement motivation presented by Lang and Fries (2006). Each scale has a reliability of 0.783 for smartphone addiction and reliability value on the selfcontrol scale is 0.847, and reliability value on the motivation scale berpretasi.0,748. The results showed the value of correlation coefficient 0,556 means there is no relation between self-control to achievement motivation in student of smartphone addiction. . Keywords: addiction, smartphone, self-control, motivation, achievement, adolescent Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan self-control terhadap motivasi berprestasi pada remaja adiksi smartphone. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik total sampling dengan jumlah subyek sebanyak 147 orang. Alat ukur pada penelitian ini adalah skala adiksi smartphone yang disusun berdasarkan indikator adiksi smartphone yang dikemukakan oleh Kwon (2013), dan skala selfcontrol yang disusun berdasarkan dimensi self-control yang dikemukakan oleh Tangney et al. (2004), serta skala motivasi berprestasi yang dikemukan oleh Lang dan Fries (2006). Masing-masing skala memiliki reliabilitas sebesar 0,783 untuk adiksi smartphone dan nilai reliabilitas pada skala self-control adalah 0,847, serta nilai reliabilitas pada skala motivasi berpretasi.0,748. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan nilai koefisiensi korelasi 0,556 artinya tidak ada hubungan antara selfcontrol terhadap motivasi berprestasi pada siswa adiksi smartphone.
