Abstract
In an era of increasingly competitive industrialization, of course, the company is required to always meet the desire of consumers in order to win the competition, so as a market leader can be maintained and improved. Of course things that need to be done company is always doing quality improvement continuously. In this study the authors analyze the level of Plating section defect, which is the final process section with high defect rate, by performing an improvement alternative using Six Sigma methodology approach and FMEA. This research uses quantitative, qualitative and descriptive explorative analysis. The result of improvement is the decrease of DPMO value from 10615,08 to 3269,96 while the sigma value there is increase that is from 3,804 to 4,219. From cause and effect diagram and RPN value of priority repair with FMEA tool, it is found that factors causing Yogore, Pit and Gomi defects are Method, Machine, and Material factors. For further research, it is suggested that the cause factors analysis can use the DOE tool and calculate the value of COPQ (Cost Of Poor Quality). Keywords: Six Sigma, FMEA, Quality Improvement, Product Defect, Cause and effect Diagram Dalam era industrialisasi yang semakin kompetitif, tentunya perusahaan dituntut untuk selalu memenuhi keinginan konsumen agar bisa memenangkan persaingan, sehingga sebagai market leader bisa dipertahankan dan ditingkatkan. Tentunya hal yang perlu dilakukan perusahaan adalah selalu melakukan perbaikan kualitas secara terus menerus. Pada penelitian ini penulis menganalisa tingkat cacat seksi Plating, yang mana seksi proses akhir dengan tingkat cacat tinggi, dengan melakukan alternatif perbaikan menggunakan pendekatan metodologi Six Sigma serta FMEA. Penelitian ini menggunakan data kuantitatif, kualitatif dan analisa eksploratif deskriftif. Hasil perbaikan yang dicapai adalah penurunan nilai DPMO yaitu dari 10615,08 menjadi 3269,96 sedangkan nilai sigma ada peningkatan yaitu dari 3,804 menjadi 4,219. Dari diagram sebab akibat dan nilai RPN prioritas perbaikan dengan tool FMEA, didapat bahwa faktor penyebab cacat Yogore, Pit dan Gomi adalah faktor Metode, Mesin, dan Material. Untuk penelitian selanjutnya disarankan analisa faktor-faktor penyebab bisa menggunakan tool DOE dan menghitung nilai COPQ (Cost Of Poor Quality).
