Abstract

Organizational Climate according to Payne and Pugh (1976) is a concept that reflects the content and strength of general values, norms, attitudes, behavior and feelings of members towards the social system. Communication behavior leads to climate development, climate including organizational communication climate. Communication climate encourages organizational members to communicate openly, relaxed, friendly with other members. The dimension of the organizational communication climate are supportiveness, participantion in making decisions, trust, openness and high performance goals. If the organizational communication climate produced by a companyis positive, will lead to employee motivation. George dan Jones (2005) motivation is spirit at work that is in the employee that makes the employee can work for achieving goals. Dimention of motivation is spirit at work, achievement, and loyalty. The research to find out for knowing and explain is there influence and how much influence does the Climate Communication Organization have on the Work Motivation of PT Transtel Universal Employees. By using the concept of motivation theory. This type of research is explanative in nature which means that there is an influence or a relationship between variables, through a quantitative method of survey, and the sample is carried out at Employees at PT Transtel Universal with 60 respondents. Sample withdrawal technique uses Total Sampling. The results of this study can be concluded that the influence of organizational communication climate is 36.4% on work motivation and 63.6% is influenced by other factors. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the organizational communication climate on the work motivation of PT Transtel Universal employees. Keywords : Organizational communication climate & Work Motivation Iklim Organisasi Menurut Payne and Pugh (1976) adalah suatu konsep yang mereflesikan isi dan kekuatan dari nilai-nilai umum, norma, sikap, tingkah laku dan perasaan anggota terhadap susatu system sosial. Tingkah laku komunikasi mengarahkan kepada perkembangan iklim, iklim diantaranya iklim komunikasi organisasi. Iklim komunikasi yang penuh persaudaraan mendorong para anggota organisasi berkomunikasi secara terbuka, rileks, ramah tamah dengan anggota lain. Dimensi dari iklim komunikasi organisasi adalah supportiveness (dukungan), partisipasi membuat keputusan, kepercayaan, keterbukaan & keterusterangan dan tujuan kinerja yang tinggi. Jika iklim komunikasi organisasi yang dihasilkan oleh suatu perusahaan itu positif makan akan menimbulkan motivasi karyawan. Menurut George dan Jones (2005) motivasi adalah semangat kerja yang ada pada karyawan yang membuat karyawan tersebut dapat bekerja untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Dimensi dari motivasi adalah semangat kerja, prestasi, dan loyalitas. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan adakah dan seberapa besar pengaruh Iklim Komunikasi Organisasi terhadap Motivasi Kerja Karyawan PT Transtel Universal. Dengan menggunakan konsep teori Motivasi. Tipe penelitian ini adalah bersifat eksplanatif yang artinya adanya pengaruh atau suatu hubungan antar variabel, melalui metode kuanitatif survey, dan sample dilakukan pada Karyawan di PT Transtel Universal dengan 60 responden. Teknik penarikan sample menggunakan Total Sampling. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengaruh iklim komunikasi organisasi sebesar 36,4% terhadap motivasi kerja dan 63,6% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh iklim komunikasi organisasi terhadap motivasi kerja karyawan PT Transtel Universal. Kata kunci : Iklim Komunikasi Organisasi & Motivasi
