Abstract
An important foundation for the development of arts and cultural centers in western Java, can be taken local ideas / concepts that underlie the design, more profound aspects, namely aspects of philosophy such as in space, mass, and form. In addition, the building must reflect its era as a form of dialogue between traditional and modern. The formation of the building period refers to the location of the site and local wisdom where the site position is in the middle of the province of West Java. The building period was inspired by the form of Sundanese music instrument, the harp, which was made into 3 parts of the time which embodies the philosophy of Sundanese life, namely the recitation of compassion, compassion, and caring, which aims to make the surrounding community forget about the guidelines of their lives. The building period of the building also illustrates the spirit of the era that is taking the concept of methaphor combined architecture where the building is made to have a futuristic and innovative mass. In realizing a good idea must be supported by sustainable aspects, where three important aspects in the sustainable issues are economic, social, cultural, and environmental (Ecology). Economic and social aspects can stand alone because they must be synergized with environmental aspects, namely presenting designs that build environmental (ecological) awareness. Keywords: West Java Arts Center, West Java Cultural Center, Metaphor Architecture Landasan penting bagi pengembangan pusat seni dan kebudayaan dijawa barat, dapat diambil gagasan/konsep-konsep local yang mendasari desainnya, aspek yang lebih mendalam yaitu aspek filosofi seperti dalam ruang, massa, dan bentuk. Selain itu juga bangunan harus mencerminkan jaman nyasebagai wujud dialog antara yang tradisional dan modern. Pembentukan masa banguna mengacu pada lokasi site dan kearifan local dimana posisi site berada ditengah provinsi jawa barat. Masa bangunan terinpirasi dari bentuk alat music khas sunda yaitu kecapi yang dibuat menjadi 3 bagian masa yang mewujudkan tentang filosofi kehidupan sunda yaitu silih asah, silih asih, dan silih asuh, yang bertujuan agar masyarakat sekitar tidak akan lupa tentang pedoman dari hidup mereka. Pembentukan masa bangunan juga menggambarkan semangat dijaman nya yaitu mengambil konsep arsitektur methaphor combined yang dimana bangunan dibuat mempunyai massa yang futuristic dan inovatif. Dalam mewujudkan gagasan yang baik harus didukung dengan aspek berkelanjutan, dimana tiga aspek penting dalam isu berkelanjutan yaitu ekonomi, sosial, budaya, dan lingkungan (Ekologi). Aspek ekonomi dan sosial dapat berdiri sendiri karena harus disinergikan dengan aspek lingkungan, yakni menghadirkan desain yang membangun kesadaran terhadap lingkungan (ekologi).
