Abstract

The mosque is an important place for worship for Muslims. In Beijing there are many Muslims, especially foreign students who are currently studying there. They all came from the country's majority Muslims. As we know that looking for a mosque in Beijing is hard enough. It is necessary an application that can provide information about the location and name of the mosque in Beijing. Beijing mosque search apps is one solution to overcome these problems. This application was made on the android platform with phonegap framework using HTML5 and JavaScript programming languages that utilize the GPS on mobile devices to get the position of the device and the Google map API as a virtual map provider. System development method used in the making of this application is the waterfall method, this method contains five phases: analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance. This application uses a distance measurement method using haversine formula that can determine the location of the nearest Beijing mosque based on the position of the device. Applications was connected to the web server to get the mosque data, which is used MySQL database. Keyword: Beijing mosque, haversine, GPS, waterfall
