Abstract
The objective of this study is to find out the effects (partially and simultaneously) of Employees’ Remuneration, Compensation and Discipline upon Employees’ Productivities at the Vice President Secretariat located at Jl. Kebon Sirih No. 14, Central Jakarta. Employees’ discipline is significantly influenced by the remuneration policy after the promulgation of remuneration policy in January 2009. However, the effects of remuneration upon the increase of employees’ competency and productivities, the effects of work discipline upon employees’ competency and the effects of employees’ competency upon employees’ productivities still cannot be proven. The object of this study comprises 187 interviewees out of 345 employees by way of interview, questionnaire, literature study, and observation methods. The regression coefficiency is used in analysis method to find out statistic significance level. The study reveals that employees’ productivities are significantly influenced by the simultaneous effects of remuneration amount, employee’s competency and work discipline. Partially, there is influence of remuneration upon employees’ competency, discipline and productivities. There is also competency influence upon employees’ discipline and productivities. Last but not least, there is also employees’ discipline influence upon employees’ productivities. Remuneration is expected to be gradually increasing in accordance with employees’ grades/levels, period of services, and scopes of work; therefore, employees’ productivities as well as competency and discipline can increase simultaneously, particularly with regard to the public services at the Vice President Secretariat.
