Abstract

PT. Indonesia Steel Tube Works at Jakarta is corporate production one steel pipe and mill #1 constitutes either one machine fifth mill whatever available and oldest its age, having production capacity 3.3 tons / the time of day, faced constraint is problem that get bearing with machine effectiveness / equipment that begat by Six Big Losses. It visually of be not been reached it production target already been established. Intermediated by effort faces effort emulation that progressively tight, the need accomplishment to customer and charge for progressively increase production target therefore needful strategy for its attainment. One of it is apply Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) by use of yardstick Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). TPM constitute one of method which is developed at Japan, can be utilized to increase productivity and efesiensi production, imprecise it handle and machine preserve / equipment not only cause damage problem on machine but also evoke loss any other so-called with Six Big Losses . meanwhile OEE will stand in good stead if done by grouping and count on a regular basis will show promise that clear for improvement. Implement methodics Total Productive Maintenance was successful increases average value Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Year 2009 as big as 71.54% as 87.7% on Year 2010, or step-up happening as big as 16.2%. so loss estimation that can be saved is as big as Rp.1.050.231.600 / Year
