Abstract

Operations Departement of PT. XYZ is still doing the traditional way in terms of the data collection process of cash register machines were rented out to the customers. This method is inefficient for the workers, especially at the Helpesk. The main objective of this research is to build a desktop application system Preventive Maintenance (PM) using VB.Net and build a database server that will be used by the application using a SQL Server running on a virtual machine. Systems development methodology that is used in this reaserch is the SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) and theoretically analyze the Preventive Maintenance (PM) applications in general. Then conduct interviews with the concerned company to find out the problems faced as well as to determine the business processes in the application system to be built. The results that can be achieved is to implement application systems Preventive Maintenance (PM) on PT. XYZ which still use the traditional way, so the companies often have errors and delays in processing the data collection work of the Preventive Maintenance (PM). This reaserch resulted in the conclusion that the application can work as expected and the user can use it easily. Keywords: Desktop applications, server virtualization Divisi Operasional PT. XYZ saat ini masih melakukan cara tradisional untuk melakukan pendataan dalam proses perbaikan mesin hitung uang yang disewakan kepada pelanggannya. Cara ini dirasakan tidak efisien bagi para pekerjanya terutama di bagian Helpesk. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membangun sistem aplikasi desktop Preventive Maintenance (PM) menggunakan VB.Net dan membangun server basis data yang akan digunakan oleh aplikasi tersebut menggunakan SQL Server yang berjalan pada mesin virtual. Metodologi pengembangan sistem yang digunakan adalah SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) dan menganalisa secara teoritis aplikasi Preventive Maintenance (PM) secara umum. Kemudian melakukan wawancara dengan pihak perusahaan yang bersangkutan untuk mengetahui permasalahan yang dihadapi serta untuk mengetahui proses bisnis pada sistem aplikasi yang akan dibangun. Hasil yang dicapai yaitu dengan menerapkan sistem aplikasi Preventive Maintenance (PM) yang terkomputerisasi pada PT. XYZ yang selama ini masih menggunakan cara tradisional / manual, sehingga perusahaan seringkali mengalami kesalahan dan keterlambatan dalam memproses pendataan hasil kerja Preventive Maintenance (PM). Simpulan bahwa sistem aplikasi Preventive Maintenance (PM) ini dapat mengaplikasikannya. berjalan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan dan memudahkan user dalam RCU BUANA Kanta Kunci: Aplikasi desktop, virtualisasi server
