Abstract

Today, communication and technology has evolved rapidly and in line with the characteristics of the development of modern society that has a high mobility for flexible services are easy and pursue efficiency in all areas of need, so that the needs of data exchange with the media network LAN (local area network) data and information increased. With the rapid development of technology leads to a necessity for companies to use the computer to get the clarity of the data. With the increasing use of computers, the greater will be the need of sending data from one terminal to another terminal units which are separated by the distance the higher the need for a network that connects the terminals that want to communicate the needed efficiency in the design of the network Topology using the extended start therefore made a design of a communication path to transmit data between computers using a cable UTP (unshielded twisted pair) by using the extended topology is expected to start with the design of sending data from one computer to another computer will be easier and faster. Keyword: network, LAN, topology Teknologi dan komunikasi dewasa ini telah berkembang dengan cepat dan selaras dengan perkembangan karakteristik masyarakat modern yang memiliki mobilitas tinggi mencari layanan yang fleksibel serba mudah dan mengejar efisiensi di segala bidang kebutuhan, sehingga kebutuhan pertukaran data dengan media jaringan LAN (local area network) data dan informasi pun meningkat. Dengan berkembangnya teknologi yang semakin pesat menimbulkan suatu keharusan bagi perusahaan-perusahaan untuk menggunakan komputer dalam mendapatkan kejelasan dari suatu data. Dengan semakin bertambahnya pemakaian komputer, semakin besar akan kebutuhan pengiriman data dari satu terminal ke terminal lain yang dipisahkan oleh satuan jarak semakin tinggi pula kebutuhan akan suatu jaringan yang menghubungkan terminal-terminal yang ingin berkomunikasi maka dibutuhkan efisiensi dalam perancangan suatu jaringan Dengan menggunakan topologi extended start maka dari itu dibuatlah suatu perancangan jalur komunikasi untuk mengirimkan suatu data antar komputer dengan menggunakan kabel UTP (unshielded twisted pair) dengan menggunakan topologi extended start dengan perancangan tersebut diharapkan pengiriman data dari komputer ke komputer lain akan lebih mudah dan cepat Kata kunci: jaringan, lan, topologi
