Abstract

This study aims to improve or resolve the problem of setup time with no material change in the plastic injection process into SMED (Single Minutes Exchange of Dies), the object of the study was setup in horizontal plastic injection machine 80 Ton Nissei brands in PT Banshu Plastic Indonesia, the variables studied were setup time, setup cost and turn over Finished Good. The method used for solving the problem using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control), and combined with the method used by Shigeo Singo. The results of study is a setup time problem solving, which directly affects to the setup cost and the turnover of finished goods. From problem-solving research can be concluded that the SMED can be applied to plastic injection company using Shigeo Singo method combined with DMAIC. Further process improvements can continue to be done in some process on the internal and external elements. Key Word: SMED, Setup Time, Setup Cost, Turn Over Finished Good, DMAIC Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki atau menyelesaikan masalah setup time tanpa pergantian material pada proses plastic injection menjadi SMED (Single Minutes Exchange Dies), objek penelitian adalah setup pada mesin horizontal plastic injection 80 Ton merk nissei di PT Banshu Plastic Indonesia, variable yang diteliti adalah setup time, setup cost dan turn over Finished Good. Metode yang digunakan untuk pemecahan masalahnya menggunakan DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve dan Control), dan digabungkan dengan metode SMED yang digunakan oleh shigeo singo. Hasil penelitianya berupa pemecahan masalah setup time yang secara langsung berpengaruh pada setup cost dan turn over finished good. Dari penelitian pemecahan masalah yang dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa SMED dapat diterapkan pada perusahaan plastic injection dengan menggunakan metode shigeo singo yang dikombinasikan dengan DMAIC. Selanjutnya proses perbaikan dapat terus dilakukan dibeberapa proses pada elemen internal dan eksternal Kata kunci: SMED, Setup Time, Setup Cost, Turn Over Finished Good, DMAIC
