Abstract

The competition today's increasingly competitive business that requires all companies included the manufacturing industry to strive provide the best for customers with higher quality products and affordable (affordable price). Therefore, every manufacturing company is required to be smart in the deal and implementing appropriate strategies to support the operational processes of production. In this thesis discussed the program strategy for the implementation of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) in which has been proven significantly improve the performance of the production process in terms of equipment, cost, delivery of product, labor and product defect rates. By implementation of TPM program by which proper strategy it will further ensure better operational performance of production in a manufacturing company so that its sustainability will be maintained at the level of desired capacity and performance. In this thesis the source data are coming from operational data of PT. XYZ a bottled milk beverages manufacturers, by using its secondary datas; the operational data of the production, engineering, QC and PPIC which includes the production capacity, planning production, amount and quality of product, downtime, the testing is done by comparing the operational performance of production after 5 years of implementation of TPM program. From the analysis of OEE index as the index of success TPM program indicates that the implementation of TPM program in PT. XYZ do not show a significant performance increase and even tended to stagnate. Furthermore, by conducting analysis of OEE will know which areas need improvement in performance to be expected to help improve the performance of the TPM program in PT. XYZ which will further improve overall performance and competitiveness of manufacturing firms. Key words: Quality, operations, TPM, OEE index, performance, stagnant, competitiveness. Ketatnya persaingan dunia usaha saat ini menuntut semua perusahaan untuk terus berusaha menghasilkan produk yang terbaik bagi konsumennya, lebih berkualitas serta harga yang bersaing (affordable price), sehingga setiap perusahaan manufaktur dituntut untuk selalu cerdas dalam menyiasati dan menerapkan strategi yang tepat untuk mendukung proses operasional produksinya. Dalam tesis ini akan membahas tentang strategi program penerapan TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) yang telah terbukti dapat meningkatkan kinerja proses produksi dalam hal kehandalan mesin produksi, biaya, tenaga kerja dan prosentasi cacat produk. Dengan penerapan strategi program TPM yang baik dan tepat maka akan lebih menjamin kinerja operasional produksi perusahaan terus terjaga pada level kapasitas dan kinerja yang diinginkan sehingga masa depan dan perkembangan perusahaan akan lebih terjamin. Data yang digunakan adalah data operasional PT.XYZ sebuah perusahaan pembuat minuman susu kemasan botol, dengan mengunakan data sekundernya antara lain; data operasional bagian Produksi, Engineering, QC dan PPIC yang meliputi kapasitas produksi, rencana produksi, hasil dan kualitas produksi, downtime, selanjutnya pengujian dilakukan dengan membandingkan kinerja operasional produksi setelah 5 tahun penerapan program TPM. Dengan menganalisis nilai index OEE sebagai index keberhasilan program TPM, menggambarkan bahwa penerapan program TPM di PT. XYZ belum menunjukan peningkatan kinerjanya yang signifikan bahkan cenderung stagnan. Dengan melakukan analisis parameter-parameter dalam index OEE selanjutnya diketahui area mana yang memerlukan perbaikan kinerjanya sehingga diharapkan akan membantu meningkatkan kinerja program TPM PT. XYZ yang pada akhirnya akan meningkatkan kinerja dan daya saing perusahaan secara keseluruhan. Kata kunci : Kualitas, operasional, TPM, index OEE, kinerja, stagnan, daya saing.
