Abstract

This studydiscusses about representation ofthe eventa strikeof employees PT FreeportIndonesia with usingcriticaldiscourse analysis on reporting of metrotvnews.comtvonenews.tv. The strikeis motivated by theproblemof lowwagesisassessed, in this case how the macro and micro news strike constructedbythe media, thenraisedan issueforthis study. Based onthe background, the purpose of this study wastoobtainin-depthunderstandingof how representation sare formed by the media to strike events, as well as what the relationship is shown by the media. The process construction of realityin the political situationsurrounding of media strike action describedby the theory ofsocial representations.This is a qualitative studyusing the (CriticalDiscourse Analysis/CDATeunA.Van Dijk) method. This method of analyzing elements in the text, which is then performed an analysis of cognition and social context and presented in the form of interpretive descriptive. In the analysis of cognition and social context do an interviews, and literature. From this studyit can be concluded that through a text element, cognition, andcontext of themedia have strength characteristicsas aresultof there presentation of reality through the ideology of the new quantity of imaging byMetro TV and media manipulative constructive ideology by tvOne. Penelitian ini membahas tentang representasi peristiwa aksi mogok kerja karyawan PT Freeport Indonesia dengan menggunakan analisis wacana kritis pada pemberitaan metrotvnews.com dan tvonenews.tv. Aksimogoktersebutdilatarbelakangiolehmasalahupahpekerjayang dinilairendah, dalamhalinibagaimanasecaramakrodanmikropemberitaanaksimogokdikonstruksi oleh media, untuk kemudian diangkat menjadi permasalahan penelitian ini.Berdasarkanlatarbelakangmakatujuanpenelitianiniadalahuntukmemperolehpe mahamansecaramendalammengenairepresentasi yang dibentukoleh media terhadapperistiwaaksimogok, sertasepertiaparelasi yang ditampilkanoleh mediatersebut. Proses konstruksi realitas media dalam situasi politik seputar peristiwa aksi mogok kerjadijelaskan dengan menggunakan teori representasisosial. Penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode (Critical Discourse Analysis/CDA Teun A. Van Dijk). Metode ini menganalisis elemen yang ada dalam teks, yang kemudian dilakukan analisis terhadap kognisi dan konteks social serta disajikan dalam bentuk deskriptif interpretatif. Dalam analisis terhadap kognisi dan konteks social dilakukan wawancara dan studipustaka. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan bahwa melalui elemen teks, kognisi, dan konteks masing-masing media memiliki karakteristik yang kuat sebagai hasil dari representasi realitas melalui ideology pencitraan partai baru oleh media Metro TV dan ideology manipulative konstruktif oleh tvOne.
