Abstract
The research is intended to see the image of coping in the old age. Coping is a somebody in the face of stress and cope with threat and challenge. Elderly are period where the man has reached maturity in size and function, besides old age also a time when somebody will decline physical and psychological with the time. The amount subject in this research is six people consisting three women and three man. Research is research a qualitative. The taking of data through interview and observation. The characteristics of each subject is different from the age, status and economic. From each subject has a coping strategy that is the subject of the first, the two subject, and the subject of the sixth self control. The three subject of seeking social support. The four is possitive reappraisal and subjects five is accepting responsibility. Keywords: old age, coping Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran coping pada lanjut usia. Coping adalah adalah usaha seseorang dalam menghadapi stres dan mengatasi ancaman maupun tantangan. Lansia adalah periode dimana manusia telah mencapai masa kemasakan dalam ukuran dan fungsi, selain itu lansia juga masa dimana seseorang akan mengalami kemunduran secara fisik dan psikis dengan berjalannya waktu. Jumlah subyek penelitian ini adalah enam orang terdiri dari tiga perempuan dan tiga laki-laki. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif. Pengambilan data melalui wawancara dan observasi. Karakteristik masing-masing subyek berbeda dari usia, status dan ekonomi. Dari masing-masing subyek memiliki strategi coping yaitu subyek pertama, subyek kedua, dan subyek keenam strategi coping, mengontrol diri. Subyek ketiga yaitu mencari dukungan. Subyek keempat yaitu positive resppraisal dan subyek kelima yaitu menerima tanggung jawab. Kata kunci : Lansia, Coping
