Abstract
West Jakarta is one of the areas with growing activities in art, culture, and creative industries. Various artistic activities, exhibitions, performances, and creative communities indicate a high level of public interest in the arts. However, these conditions have not been supported by the availability of a higher education institution specifically designed to accommodate various art disciplines within an integrated environment. As a result, access to arts education in West Jakarta remains limited. Therefore, an Art Institute is proposed in West Jakarta as a platform for education, creativity, appreciation, research, and the development of artistic potential that can support the needs of the community and creative industries. The design applies a Biophilic Architecture approach to create a healthy, comfortable, and sustainable learning environment through the integration of natural elements into the building. The concept is implemented through natural lighting and ventilation, green open spaces, vegetation, voids, infiltration ponds, and the reuse of water from ablution and washbasins for landscape irrigation. The design is expected to improve the quality of the learning environment, support users’ creativity, and serve as a representative center for arts education and development as well as an educational landmark for the arts in West Jakarta. Keywords: Art Institute, Biophilic Architecture, Nature Integration, Creative Space, Susta Jakarta Barat merupakan salah satu wilayah dengan aktivitas seni, budaya, dan industri kreatif yang terus berkembang. Berbagai kegiatan seni, pameran, pertunjukan, serta komunitas kreatif menunjukkan tingginya minat masyarakat terhadap bidang seni. Namun, kondisi tersebut belum diimbangi dengan keberadaan institusi pendidikan tinggi yang secara khusus mewadahi berbagai disiplin seni dalam satu kawasan terpadu. Hal ini menyebabkan akses pendidikan seni di Jakarta Barat masih terbatas. Oleh karena itu, dirancang Institut Kesenian di Jakarta Barat sebagai wadah pendidikan, kreativitas, apresiasi, penelitian, serta pengembangan potensi seni yang mampu mendukung kebutuhan masyarakat dan industri kreatif. Perancangan menggunakan pendekatan Arsitektur Biophilic untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang sehat, nyaman, dan berkelanjutan melalui integrasi elemen alam ke dalam bangunan. Penerapan konsep diwujudkan melalui pencahayaan dan penghawaan alami, ruang terbuka hijau, vegetasi, void, kolam resapan, serta pemanfaatan air bekas wudu dan wastafel untuk penyiraman tanaman. Hasil perancangan diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan belajar, mendukung kreativitas pengguna, serta menjadi pusat pendidikan dan pengembangan seni yang representatif sekaligus landmark pendidikan seni di Jakarta Barat.
