Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between self-efficacy and future anxiety among college students in Jakarta. The research design used in this study is a quantitative, correlational approach to examine the nature of the relationship between these two variables. The population for this study consisted of active college students in the Jakarta area aged 18–25 years, totaling 134 participants as calculated using the G-Power application. The sampling technique employed was non-probability sampling, meaning the selection of participants was not random. Specifically, accidental sampling was used, in which participants deemed suitable for the data required by the researcher were identified by chance. The two variables were measured using the New General Self-Efficacy Scale (NGSES), developed by Chen et al. (2001) based on Bandura’s theory, for the SelfEfficacy variable, and the Future Anxiety Scale (FAS), developed by Zaleski (1996). The results of the study, conducted using Pearson’s correlation, indicate a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and future anxiety among college students in Jakarta, with a correlation coefficient of -.947. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a very strong negative relationship between self-efficacy and future anxiety among college students in Jakarta. Keywords: Self-Efficacy, Future Anxiety, College Students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara Self-Efficacy dengan Future Anxiety pada mahasiswa di Jakarta. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif metode korelasional untuk melihat seperti apa hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa aktif daerah Jakarta dengan kategori usia 18-25 tahun yang berjumlah 134 sampel melalui penghitungan aplikasi G-Power. Teknik sampling yang digunakan non-probability sampling, pengambilan sampel yang tidak dilakukan secara random. Dengan spesifik, menggunakan accidental sampling yang dilakukan secara kebetulan menemukan sampel yang dianggap sesuai dengan data yang dibutuhkan peneliti. Pengukuran skala kedua variabel menggunakan skala ukur New General Self-Efficacy (NGSES) yang dikembangkan oleh Chen et al. (2001) berdasarkan teori Bandura untuk variabel Self-Efficacy dan Future Anxiety Scale (FAS) yang dikembangkan oleh Zaleski (1996). Hasil Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan Pearson Correlation menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara Self-Efficacy dengan Future Anxiety pada mahasiswa di Jakarta, dengan nilai korelasi -.947. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang sangat kuat antara Self-Efficacy dengan Future Anxiety pada mahasiswa di Jakarta.
