Abstract
The warehouse of an inline skating training service still applies a random storage system, where equipment placement does not consider usage frequency. This condition results in inefficient equipment retrieval and preparation processes and leads to operational discrepancies. This study aims to evaluate the warehouse storage system, classify equipment based on usage frequency using the Class-Based Storage method, and propose an improved warehouse layout to enhance operational efficiency. A quantitative approach was employed through ABC analysis, storage capacity and utilization calculations, proposed layout design, and evaluation based on the total equipment retrieval and preparation time. The results showed that 15 types of equipment were classified as Class A with a cumulative percentage of 77.40%, 7 types as Class B, and 9 types as Class C. The warehouse storage capacity was 538 units, while the total inventory reached 601 units, resulting in a storage utilization of 111.71%. The implementation of the ClassBased Storage method reduced the total retrieval and preparation time from 18.53 minutes to 11.95 minutes, representing a time reduction of 6.58 minutes with an efficiency improvement of 35.52%. The proposed warehouse layout improved the effectiveness of the storage system and enhanced warehouse operational efficiency. Gudang jasa pelatihan sepatu roda masih menerapkan sistem random storage sehingga penempatan perlengkapan belum mempertimbangkan frekuensi penggunaannya. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan proses pencarian dan penyiapan perlengkapan kurang efektif serta menimbulkan ketidaksesuaian operasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi sistem penyimpanan gudang, mengelompokkan perlengkapan berdasarkan frekuensi penggunaan menggunakan metode Class-Based Storage, serta menyusun usulan perbaikan tata letak gudang untuk meningkatkan efisiensi operasional. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui analisis ABC, perhitungan kapasitas dan utilitas penyimpanan, penyusunan layout usulan, serta evaluasi berdasarkan total waktu pencarian dan penyiapan perlengkapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 15 jenis perlengkapan pada kelas A dengan persentase kumulatif 77,40%, 7 jenis perlengkapan pada kelas B, dan 9 jenis perlengkapan pada kelas C. Kapasitas fasilitas penyimpanan sebesar 538 unit, sedangkan jumlah perlengkapan mencapai 601 unit, sehingga utilitas penyimpanan sebesar 111,71%. Penerapan metode Class-Based Storage menurunkan total waktu pencarian dan penyiapan dari 18,53 menit menjadi 11,95 menit, atau berkurang 6,58 menit dengan efisiensi 35,52%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usulan tata letak mampu meningkatkan efektivitas sistem penyimpanan dan efisiensi operasional gudang.
