Abstract
The issue of textile waste in Indonesia continues to escalate in line with the growth of fashion trends and consumer lifestyles. Textile waste is projected to reach 3.5 million tons by 2030, posing significant environmental threats, such as water and air pollution. One solution to address this problem is upcycling, a technique that transforms textile waste into valuable products without destruction. This study designs an educational video titled "Saujana" to raise public awareness, particularly among teenagers and young adults, about the importance of managing textile waste through upcycling. The video employs a visual storytelling approach with persuasive narration to effectively convey its message. The results of the design process indicate that the "Saujana" educational video successfully enhances audience understanding of the dangers of textile waste and the importance of applying upcycling as a creative and economical solution. Audience feedback suggests that the video is educational, visually engaging, and capable of motivating people to implement upcycling in their daily lives. Keywords: Waste, Textile, Upcycling, Educational Video Permasalahan limbah tekstil di Indonesia terus meningkat seiring dengan perkembangan tren mode dan gaya hidup konsumtif. Limbah tekstil diproyeksikan mencapai 3,5 juta ton pada tahun 2030, yang menimbulkan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan, seperti pencemaran air dan udara. Salah satu solusi yang dapat mengatasi permasalahan ini adalah teknik upcycling, yang memungkinkan pengolahan limbah tekstil menjadi produk bernilai tanpa proses penghancuran. Penelitian ini merancang video edukasi berjudul "Saujana" untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat, khususnya usia remaja hingga dewasa, terhadap pentingnya pengelolaan limbah tekstil melalui teknik upcycling. Video ini menggunakan pendekatan visual storytelling dengan gaya narasi persuasif untuk menyampaikan pesan secara efektif. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan bahwa video edukasi "Saujana" berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman audiens tentang bahaya limbah tekstil dan pentingnya penerapan teknik upcycling sebagai solusi kreatif dan ekonomis. Umpan balik dari audiens mengindikasikan bahwa video ini edukatif, menarik secara visual, dan dapat memotivasi masyarakat untuk mengimplementasikan upcycling dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
