Abstract
The Trans-Sumatra Toll Road is a strategic infrastructure that plays an important role in improving interregional connectivity and supporting regional economic growth. However, several segments of the toll road have shown indications of pavement performance degradation before reaching their design service life. This study aims to analyze the influence of traffic load, California Bearing Ratio (CBR), and pavement structure on pavement deflection using the Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD); evaluate the functional condition of the pavement through the Present Serviceability Index (PSI) and Road Condition Index (RCI); predict the remaining service life of the pavement; and determine appropriate maintenance and rehabilitation programs. The research methods include deflection testing using FWD, pavement surface condition analysis using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and International Roughness Index (IRI), and calculation of cumulative traffic loading using the Cumulative Equivalent Standard Axle (CESA). The results indicate that most segments on Lane A and Lane B have a remaining service life of less than 10 years. More severe conditions were observed on Lane B, which is influenced by a high traffic load of 30.5 million ESA, relatively low subgrade CBR values, and inadequate pavement structural thickness. The reduction in pavement service life is more influenced by structural condition and pavement layer quality than by the actual traffic volume. The functional evaluation shows a very strong linear correlation between PSI and RCI values, with a coefficient of determination of R² = 0.9944. The PSI values indicate poor serviceability conditions, while the RCI values are still classified as very good, suggesting that visible surface damage remains relatively minor. Based on these findings, the recommended treatment strategies include routine maintenance, rehabilitation of the upper pavement layer, and reconstruction for segments experiencing severe structural damage. These recommendations refer to the 2024 Pavement Design Manual (MDP) to maintain the structural and functional performance of the toll road sustainably. Keywords: FWD, IRI, PSI, Maintenance. Jalan Tol Trans-Sumatra merupakan infrastruktur strategis yang berperan penting dalam meningkatkan konektivitas antarwilayah serta mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi regional. Namun demikian, pada beberapa segmen ruas tol ditemukan indikasi degradasi kinerja perkerasan sebelum mencapai umur rencana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh beban lalu lintas, nilai California Bearing Ratio (CBR), dan struktur perkerasan terhadap nilai defleksi perkerasan menggunakan Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD); mengevaluasi kondisi fungsional jalan melalui parameter Present Serviceability Index (PSI) dan Road Condition Index (RCI); memprediksi sisa umur layanan perkerasan; serta menentukan program pemeliharaan dan rehabilitasi yang sesuai. Metode penelitian meliputi pengujian defleksi menggunakan FWD, analisis kondisi permukaan melalui Pavement Condition Index (PCI) dan International Roughness Index (IRI), serta perhitungan beban lalu lintas kumulatif menggunakan Cumulative Equivalent Standard Axle (CESA). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar segmen pada Jalur A dan Jalur B memiliki sisa umur layanan kurang dari 10 tahun. Kondisi yang lebih kritis ditemukan pada Jalur B, yang dipengaruhi oleh tingginya beban lalu lintas sebesar 30,5 juta ESA, nilai CBR tanah dasar yang relatif rendah, serta ketebalan dan komposisi struktur perkerasan yang kurang memadai. Penurunan umur layanan perkerasan lebih dipengaruhi oleh kondisi struktural dan kualitas lapisan perkerasan dibandingkan dengan volume lalu lintas aktual. Evaluasi kondisi fungsional menunjukkan adanya hubungan linier yang sangat kuat antara nilai PSI dan RCI dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar R² = 0,9944. Nilai PSI mengindikasikan kondisi pelayanan yang buruk, sementara nilai RCI masih tergolong sangat baik, yang menunjukkan bahwa kerusakan permukaan secara visual masih relatif minor. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, strategi penanganan yang direkomendasikan meliputi pemeliharaan rutin, rehabilitasi lapisan perkerasan atas, serta rekonstruksi pada segmen yang mengalami kerusakan struktural berat. Rekomendasi ini mengacu pada Manual Desain Perkerasan Jalan 2024 (MDP) guna menjaga kinerja struktural dan fungsional jalan tol secara berkelanjutan. Kata Kunci: FWD, IRI, PSI, Pemeliharaan.
