Abstract
Perkembangan industri musik independen di Indonesia mendorong para musisi untuk terus berkembang dalam mengembangkan strategi promosi. Salah satu cara yang efektif dan dekat dengan fans adalah dengan menggunakan merchandise sebagai sarana promosi. Dengan menuangkan karya ilustrasi bergambar seluruh personal dengan identisat masing-masing dari gaya rambut dan postur tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang desain merchandise untuk band Jarak yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai produk yang dijual, tetapi juga menjadi alat promosi yang memperkuat identitas visual band tersebut. Dalam proses perancangan ini, digunakan beberapa metode seperti melakukan wawancara dengan anggota band, mengamati audiens, serta mendistribusikan kuesioner untuk memahami selera pasar target. Hasilnya berupa berbagai jenis merchandise seperti kaos, stiker, dan poster dengan desain yang menggambarkan gaya visual khas genre band Jarak, yaitu nuansa gelap, ekspresif, dan bersifat alternatif. Desain merchandise ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat citra band di mata audiens, meningkatkan daya tarik promosi, serta membangun hubungan emosional yang lebih kuat antara band dan para penggemarnya. The growth of the independent music industry in Indonesia is driving musicians to continuously develop promotional strategies. One effective and engaging way to connect with fans is through the use of merchandise as a promotional tool. This involves creating illustrations depicting the entire band, each with their own unique identity, including hairstyles and body postures. This research aims to design merchandise for the band Jarak that not only serves as a product for sale but also serves as a promotional tool that strengthens the band's visual identity. The design process utilized several methods, including interviews with band members, audience observation, and questionnaires to understand the preferences of the target market. The resulting merchandise includes various types of t-shirts, stickers, and posters, with designs that reflect Jarak's distinctive visual style: dark, expressive, and alternative. This merchandise design is expected to strengthen the band's image in the eyes of the audience, increase promotional appeal, and build a stronger emotional connection between the band and its fans.
