Abstract

The development of social media has transformed digital spaces into arenas where public opinion is formed on various issues, including films. The film 1 Imam 2 Makmum has attracted public attention as it portrays emotional conflict in marital relationships, particularly the process of accepting a new partner after the loss of a spouse. This issue has generated diverse responses on Instagram, ranging from support to criticism, positioning the film not only as entertainment but also as a trigger for public discussion. This study aims to identify the tendency of public opinion toward the film 1 Imam 2 Makmum as reflected in Instagram comment sections. The focus of the research is to classify public opinions into positive, negative, and neutral categories based on audience responses to the film’s theme and emotional conflict. The research employs a quantitative approach using content analysis as the method. Data were collected through documentation by capturing user comments from a single post on the official Instagram account of the film 1 Imam 2 Makmum dated November 26, 2024. The data were analyzed using a coding sheet and tested for reliability through intercoder reliability analysis using the Holsti formula. The results indicate that public opinion toward the film 1 Imam 2 Makmum varies and is divided into positive, negative, and neutral opinions. This diversity of responses reflects differences in public perception regarding the emotional issues and marital relationships portrayed in the film, and highlights the role of social media as a digital public sphere in shaping public opinion. Keywords: Public Opinion, Social Media, Instagram, Comment Analysis, Film Perkembangan media sosial menjadikan ruang digital sebagai tempat terbentuknya opini publik terhadap berbagai isu, termasuk karya film. Film 1 Imam 2 Makmum menjadi perhatian warganet karena mengangkat konflik emosional dalam relasi pernikahan, khususnya proses penerimaan pasangan baru setelah kehilangan pasangan sebelumnya. Isu tersebut memicu beragam respons publik di media sosial Instagram, baik berupa dukungan maupun kritik, sehingga film ini tidak hanya dipandang sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai pemantik diskusi publik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kecenderungan opini publik terhadap film 1 Imam 2 Makmum yang muncul dalam kolom komentar Instagram. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada pengelompokan opini publik ke dalam kategori positif, negatif, dan netral berdasarkan tanggapan warganet terhadap tema dan konflik yang diangkat dalam film. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode analisis isi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dokumentasi berupa pengambilan komentar warganet pada satu unggahan akun Instagram resmi film 1 Imam 2 Makmum tanggal 26 November 2024. Data dianalisis menggunakan coding sheet dan diuji reliabilitasnya melalui uji reliabilitas antarcoder dengan rumus Holsti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa opini publik terhadap film 1 Imam 2 Makmum bersifat beragam dan terbagi ke dalam opini positif, negatif, dan netral. Keberagaman opini tersebut mencerminkan perbedaan persepsi masyarakat terhadap isu emosional dan relasi pernikahan yang ditampilkan, serta menegaskan peran media sosial sebagai ruang publik digital dalam pembentukan opini publik.
