Abstract

Nivandria is a 3D open-world RPG game currently being developed by M-Knows Consulting. One of the regions in this game is Cavterra, which is inspired by the geography and culture of Mongolia and the Himalayan mountains. The absence of environment concept art has posed a challenge in the development of the Cavterra region, making production difficult due to the lack of concrete visual references. Therefore, a visual design strategy is needed that can merge the geographic and cultural elements of Mongolia and the Himalayas with a visual style that aligns with the preferences of Nivandria’s target audience — teenagers aged 18 to 25.This design project aims to create environment concept art that communicates the unique characteristics of Cavterra in a strong and consistent manner. The final output includes the creation of 25 environment concept artworks, divided into 6 distinct areas, compiled into a concept art book. The art style combines semirealistic and stylized aesthetics, using natural color palettes and a high level of detail. Keywords: Environment concept art, Game, RPG, Concept, Mongolia, Himalaya. Nivandria adalah game 3D open-world RPG yang sedang dikembangkan oleh MKnows Consulting. Salah satu region dalam game ini adalah Cavterra, yang terinspirasi dari geografi dan budaya Mongolia dan pegunungan Himalaya. Belum adanya environment concept art menjadi masalah dalam pengembangan region Cavterra dan menyulitkan produksi karena belum adanya visual yang konkret. Untuk itu, dibutuhkan strategi perancangan visual yang mampu menggabungkan geografi dan budaya Mongolia dan Himalaya dengan gaya visual yang sesuai dengan preferensi target pemain Nivandria, yaitu remaja usia 18–25 tahun. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan environment concept art yang bisa mengkomunikasikan ciri khas dunia Cavterra dengan kuat dan konsisten. Hasil akhir karya mencakup pembuatan 25 environment concept art yang dibagi menjadi 6 area yang berbeda yang disusun dalam buku konsep dengan artstyle percampuran antara semi realis dan stylized dengan penggunaan warna natural dan tingkat detail yang tinggi.
