Abstract
Effective drinking water management requires risk identification and mitigation to ensure the quality, quantity, and continuity of water supply for the community. This research aims to identify risks in the drinking water treatment process using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method. FMEA assesses the severity, probability of occurrence, and likelihood of detection of each identified risk. The results showed that some of the main risks in drinking water treatment include disruption of electricity supply, pollution of raw water sources, and failure of filtration and disinfection systems. These risks are categorized based on the Risk Priority Number (RPN) value, which indicates the priority level of mitigation to be carried out. Through risk control strategies, some risks that were initially in the moderate and critical categories were successfully reduced to low or very low levels after implementing appropriate mitigation measures. This study emphasizes the importance of risk management in drinking water treatment to improve operational efficiency and ensure the availability of safe water for the community. Pengelolaan air minum yang efektif memerlukan identifikasi dan mitigasi risiko guna memastikan kualitas, kuantitas, dan kontinuitas suplai air bagi masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi risiko dalam proses pengolahan air minum menggunakan metode Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). FMEA digunakan untuk menilai tingkat keparahan, probabilitas kejadian, dan kemungkinan deteksi dari setiap risiko yang teridentifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beberapa risiko utama dalam pengolahan air minum mencakup gangguan suplai listrik, pencemaran sumber air baku, serta kegagalan sistem filtrasi dan desinfeksi. Risiko-risiko ini dikategorikan berdasarkan nilai Risk Priority Number (RPN) yang menunjukkan tingkat prioritas mitigasi yang harus dilakukan. Melalui strategi pengendalian risiko, beberapa risiko yang awalnya berada dalam kategori Moderate dan Critical berhasil diturunkan ke tingkat Low atau Very Low setelah penerapan langkah mitigasi yang tepat. Studi ini menegaskan pentingnya manajemen risiko dalam pengolahan air minum untuk meningkatkan efisiensi operasional serta memastikan ketersediaan air yang aman bagi masyarakat.
