Abstract

The aims of this research is to find out the professional competence, achievement motivation and organizational climate partially and simultaneously that affect lecturers performance and what dimensions is the most powerful influence. The research was conducted in Jakarta State Polytechnic and its object are the lecturers from six department, the method used is descriptive quantitative by using the proportional, simple random sampling. The hypothesis is examined by correlation product moment (Pearson correlation) and multiple linear regression. The results showed that the three free variables above have positive and significant impact on the lecture’s performance both partially and simultaneously. The most influence variable is the professional competence that is based educational background. Secondly is the achievement motivation which is strong influenced by the need of power. The third variable is that the social environment is the most dominant on teaching and learning process. The conclusion is that lectures education, the need of power and environmental social organizations are the most influenced factors on the lecturers performance. So that if the three influenced factors are improved, the lecturer performance of the Jakarta State Polytechnic lecturer will increase. Key words: professional competence, achievement motivation and organizational climate Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kompetensi profesional, motivasi berprestasi dan iklim organisasi secara parsial dan secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja dosen serta untuk mengetahui dimensi mana yang paling kuat pengaruhnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Politeknik Negeri Jakarta dengan obyek penelitian adalah dosen. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara simple random sampling. Sampel diambil dari 6 jurusan dengan menggunakan proposional berimbang, menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif, data dianalisis secara deskriptif . Uji hipotesis menggunakan korelasi product moment (korelasi Pearson) dan model regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa berdasarkan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana dan berganda, secara parsial kompetensi profesional, motivasi berprestasi dan iklim organisasi memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja dosen. Dan secara simultan diketahui bahwa ketiga variabel bebas tadi memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja dosen. Pada variabel kompetensi profesional, dimensi landasan pendidikan paling dominan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja dosen, untuk motivasi berprestasi dimensi kebutuhan untuk berkuasa paling kuat pengaruhnya terhadap bidang pendidikan dan pengajaran, sedangkan pada variabel iklim organisasi dimensi lingkungan sosial paling dominan berpengaruh terhadap pendidikan dan pengajaran. Kesimpulannya bahwa dimensi landasan pendidikan dosen , kebutuhan untuk berkuasa dan lingkungan sosial organisasi berpengaruh paling besar terhadap kinerja dosen. Sehingga apabila ketiga hal tersebut ditingkatkan maka kinerja dosen Politeknik Negeri Jakarta akan meningkat. Kata kunci : kompetensi profesional, motivasi berprestasi dan iklim organisasi
