Abstract
This study aims to identify the factors contributing to product rejects in the plastic seal manufacturing process at PT Karya Gemilang Indonusa and to propose corrective actions to reduce the reject rate and improve production efficiency. The research utilizes the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method, specifically using pcharts to monitor the proportion of defects, and the Fishbone Diagram to analyze root causes across multiple dimensions including manpower, machine, method, material, measurement, and environment. The analysis revealed that the most dominant types of rejects were flashing and short mold, which collectively contributed to over 55% of total product defects. Following corrective actions such as operator training, machine maintenance, and process parameter adjustments, the reject rate decreased from an average of 12.91% in 2024 to 4.48% in the January–April 2025 period. Furthermore, the process capability index (Cpk) improved from 0.333 to 0.667, indicating enhanced process stability, although still below the threshold for a capable process. The study also recommends the use of tensile testing machines and torsion testers to improve product quality inspections. The systematic implementation of quality control methods is expected to improve product quality, reduce production costs, and support the long-term sustainability of the company. Keywords: Quality control, SPC, Fishbone Diagram, product reject, plastic seal, process capability Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya reject pada produksi segel plastik di PT Karya Gemilang Indonusa serta mengusulkan tindakan perbaikan guna menurunkan tingkat reject dan meningkatkan efisiensi produksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Statistical Process Control (SPC) dengan menggunakan p-chart untuk memantau proporsi cacat, serta Fishbone Diagram untuk menganalisis akar penyebab permasalahan dari berbagai aspek (manusia, mesin, metode, material, pengukuran, dan lingkungan). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa jenis reject yang paling dominan adalah flashing dan short mold yang secara kumulatif menyumbang lebih dari 55% dari total cacat produk. Setelah dilakukan tindakan korektif berupa pelatihan operator, perawatan mesin, dan penyesuaian parameter proses, tingkat reject berhasil diturunkan dari rata-rata 12,91% pada tahun 2024 menjadi 4,48% pada periode Januari–April 2025. Selain itu, nilai indeks kapabilitas proses (Cpk) meningkat dari 0,333 menjadi 0,667, menunjukkan adanya perbaikan stabilitas proses meskipun belum mencapai kategori kapabel. Implementasi metode pengendalian kualitas yang sistematis ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas produk, menurunkan biaya produksi, serta mendukung keberlanjutan perusahaan dalam jangka panjang.
