Abstract

This study analyzes the comparison of Quality of Service (QoS) between the wireless network standards 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) and 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) in the context of video streaming using the Netflix application on a laptop device. The main focus is to evaluate the performance of both technologies in terms of throughput, latency, packet loss, and connection stability. The objective of this research is to compare the QoS performance of 802.11ac and 802.11ax when used for Netflix streaming, as well as to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each standard within a network environment. The study is conducted using a comparative method with a laptop that supports both Wi-Fi standards. Testing is carried out in scenarios: low-traffic. QoS parameters such as throughput, latency, jitter, and packet loss are measured using tools like Wireshark. Statistical analysis is used to compare the test results between the two standards. Kata kunci: Wireless Network, QoS, 802.11ac, 802.11ax, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, Netflix Penelitian ini menganalisis perbandingan Quality of Service (QoS) antara standar jaringan nirkabel 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5) dan 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) dalam konteks streaming video menggunakan aplikasi Netflix pada perangkat laptop. Fokus utama adalah mengevaluasi performa kedua teknologi dalam hal throughput, latency, packet loss, dan stabilitas koneksi. Tujuan penelitian adalah membandingkan kinerja QoS antara 802.11ac dan 802.11ax saat digunakan untuk streaming Netflix, serta mengidentifikasi kelebihan dan kelemahan masing-masing standar dalam lingkungan jaringan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode perbandingan menggunakan perangkat laptop yang mendukung kedua standar Wi-Fi. Pengujian dilakukan dalam skenario: lingkungan jaringan yang tidak padat. Parameter QoS seperti throughput, latency, jitter, dan packet loss diukur menggunakan tools seperti Wireshark. Analisis statistik digunakan untuk membandingkan hasil pengujian antara kedua standar.
