Abstract

This project aims to design a visually and narratively strong main character to support the branding and player experience in a 3D adventure game for PC, developed by PT. Finoy Utama Sejahtera and targeted at an international audience. The methodology includes literature studies, visual reference analysis, industry interviews, concept development based on world-building, and visual exploration through sketches and digital rendering. Based on an interview with Extra Life Entertainment, the character development process begins with understanding the game format 3D PC in this case and continues by aligning the design direction with global audience preferences and technical production considerations. Visual elements such as costumes or cloaks are evaluated not only for aesthetics but also for feasibility in 3D animation, highlighting the importance of balancing visual appeal, technical constraints, and market relevance. The final character design introduces Raka Wijaya, a warrior rooted in the cultural identity of the Majapahit era, portrayed through traditional battle attire, a signature twin Kujang weapon, and spiritual accessories. This character is designed to establish a strong visual identity that resonates with diverse audiences and enhances the game's branding within the competitive global 3D PC game market. Keywords: Character design, Game branding, Adventure game Proyek ini bertujuan merancang karakter utama yang kuat secara visual dan naratif untuk mendukung branding serta pengalaman bermain dalam game petualangan (adventure) berbasis PC dengan visual 3D, yang dikembangkan oleh PT. Finoy Utama Sejahtera dan ditujukan untuk pasar internasional. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi literatur, analisis referensi visual, wawancara dengan pihak industri, serta pengembangan desain melalui sketsa dan digital rendering. Berdasarkan wawancara dengan Extra Life Entertainment, proses pengembangan karakter dimulai dari pemahaman jenis game dalam hal ini game 3D untuk platform PC yang kemudian disesuaikan dengan preferensi audiens global dan pertimbangan teknis produksi. Elemen desain seperti kostum atau jubah dinilai berdasarkan estetika serta kelayakan dalam animasi 3D, menunjukkan pentingnya fleksibilitas antara aspek visual, teknis, dan kebutuhan pasar. Hasil perancangan menghadirkan karakter utama bernama Raka Wijaya seorang pejuang dengan identitas budaya Majapahit yang kuat, digambarkan melalui pakaian perang tradisional, senjata Kujang Kembar Api, serta aksesori spiritual. Karakter ini dirancang untuk menciptakan identitas visual yang otentik dan menarik bagi pemain dari berbagai latar budaya, sekaligus memperkuat citra merek dalam kompetisi game PC 3D di pasar global.
