Abstract
This study explores the implementation and simulation of a failover mechanism in hybrid Li-Fi and Wi-Fi networks using the NS-3 network simulator. In hybrid networks, failover enables seamless transitions between Li-Fi and Wi-Fi technologies when one network experiences disruptions. The study aims to evaluate the performance of failover based on parameters such as throughput, latency, and packet loss ratio. Simulations were conducted across various dynamic scenarios to identify factors affecting failover quality. The results indicate that implementing an efficient failover mechanism enhances the stability and quality of hybrid network connections, offering insights into the development of future network technologies. Keywords: Failover, Li-Fi, Wi-Fi, Hybrid Network, NS-3, QoS Penelitian ini membahas penerapan dan simulasi mekanisme failover pada jaringan hybrid Li-Fi dan Wi-Fi menggunakan simulator jaringan NS-3. Dalam jaringan hybrid, failover memungkinkan perpindahan koneksi yang mulus antara teknologi Li-Fi dan Wi-Fi saat terjadi gangguan pada salah satu jaringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi performa failover berdasarkan parameter seperti throughput, latensi, dan rasio kehilangan paket. Simulasi dilakukan untuk berbagai skenario dinamis guna mengidentifikasi parameter yang memengaruhi kualitas failover. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan mekanisme failover yang efisien dapat meningkatkan stabilitas dan kualitas koneksi jaringan hybrid, serta memberikan wawasan dalam pengembangan teknologi jaringan masa depan. Kata kunci: Failover, Li-Fi, Wi-Fi, Jaringan Hybrid, NS-3, QoS.
