Abstract

Advances in technology and telecommunications have become a necessity and very helpful to communicate over long distances. But along with the development of technology, there is a negative impact of data interception so the security aspects in terms of exchange of information is very important. One example to secure data from interception is using cryptographic methods. Cryptography is a data security techniques for maintaining the confidentiality of information and data authenticity. Android is an operating system development based on Linux for mobile phones such as smart phones and tablet computers. SecureSMS application is a Short Message Service (SMS) on a smartphone based on Android operating system that can encrypt and decrypt text messages sent via sms service. The application uses a symmetric encryption method (AES) and asymmetric encryption (RSA) for encryption and decryption of text data. This application is useful to secure text data sent from the SMS service so that gaps in the data security of SMS services can be reduced. Keywords: Cryptography, Encryption, Decryption, Android, AES and RSA. Kemajuan teknologi dan telekomunikasi telah menjadi kebutuhan dan sangat membantu untuk berkomunikasi jarak jauh. Namun seiring dengan berkembangnya teknologi, terdapat dampak negatif berupa penyadapan data, sehingga aspek keamanan dalam hal pertukaran informasi menjadi sangat penting. Salah satu cara untuk mengamankan data dari penyadapan yaitu dengan menggunakan metode kriptografi. Kriptografi merupakan teknik pengamanan data informasi untuk menjaga kerahasiaan dan keaslian data. Android merupakan sistem operasi berbasi linux untuk telepon seluler seperti telepon pintar dan komputer tablet. SecureSMS merupakan suatu aplikasi pesan singkat Short Message Service (SMS) pada smartphone berbasis sistem operasi android yang dapat mengenkripsi dan mendekripsi pesan teks yang dikirimkan melalui layanan sms. Aplikasi tersebut menggunakan metode enkripsi simetris (AES) dan enkripsi asimetris (RSA) untuk enkripsi dan dekripsi data teks. Aplikasi ini berguna untuk mengamankan data teks yang dikirim dari service SMS sehingga celah keamanan data pada layanan SMS dapat dikurangi.
