Abstract

A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) plays a crucial role in controlling the speed and torque of electric motors in various industrial applications. However, in many small- to medium-scale industries, there is still no automated monitoring system for trip conditions. This limitation can cause delays in fault handling and potentially lead to further equipment damage. Therefore, a system design is required that can detect VFD trips, send real-time notifications to the maintenance team, and record event data to support system performance analysis and evaluation. The developed system uses an ESP32 microcontroller as the main controller, integrated with an RFID RC522 module for authentication and a relay as the actuator. Notification delivery is implemented through the Telegram Bot API, while event logging is performed automatically to Google Sheets via Google Apps Script. The system logic restricts the reset process to authorized personnel holding registered RFID cards, thereby preventing unauthorized restarts. The test results show that the system can detect trip conditions and send notifications to Telegram. The reset access restriction function via RFID operates as intended, and logging to Google Sheets runs stably with an average upload time of 3.47 seconds. All components consistently operate according to their functions, making the system effective in enhancing VFD operational safety and efficiency in industrial environments. keyword : Variable Frequency Drive, trip detection, ESP32, RFID, Telegram Bot, Google Sheets Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) berperan penting dalam pengaturan kecepatan dan torsi motor listrik di berbagai aplikasi industri.
