Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of different types of shockbreaker oil on the performance of the rear suspension of a Honda Beat motorcycle. Three types of 10W shockbreaker oil were compared in this research: AHM Genuine Oil Shock (the original manufacturer’s oil), Maxima Fork Fluid, and Motul Fork Oil Factory Line. The research method used was experimental, with testing conducted using a Dyno Shock tool to observe the damping characteristics of the suspension under typical road conditions in Indonesia, such as damaged, uneven, and smooth roads. The results showed that AHM oil produced the highest compression force (±75 N), indicating good suspension stiffness for handling heavy loads or high-speed riding. Motul oil delivered the highest rebound force, reaching ±561 N, signifying optimal capability in restoring the suspension to its original position after compression, making it well-suited for uneven and bumpy roads. Meanwhile, Maxima oil demonstrated the most balanced damping characteristics between rebound and compression, with values of ±522 N and ±64 N, respectively, making it ideal for daily use across various road conditions. Based on these findings, Maxima oil is considered the best choice for ensuring both riding comfort and stability in everyday use. Keywords: Shockbreaker Oil, Suspension, Dyno Shock Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jenis oli shockbreaker terhadap kinerja suspensi belakang sepeda motor Honda Beat. Tiga jenis oli shockbreaker yang dibandingkan dalam penelitian ini adalah AHM Genuine Oil Shock (oli bawaan pabrikan), Maxima Fork Fluid, dan Motul Fork Oil Factory Line, yang semuanya memiliki kekentalan 10W. Metode penilitan yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan pengujiannya menggunakan alat Dyno Shock untuk melihat karakteristik redaman suspensi saat menghadapi kondisi jalan yang umum di Indonesia, seperti jalan rusak, bergelombang, maupun jalan halus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa oli AHM menghasilkan gaya kompresi tertinggi (±75 N), menunjukkan kekakuan suspensi yang baik untuk menghadapi beban besar atau kecepatan tinggi. Oli Motul memberikan gaya rebound tertinggi, mencapai ±561 N, menandakan kemampuan optimal dalam mengembalikan posisi suspensi setelah tekanan. Cocok untuk kondisi jalan yang bergelombang dan tidak rata, dan oli Maxima menampilkan karakteristik redaman paling seimbang antara rebound dan kompresi, dengan nilai ±522 N dan ±64 N secara berturut-turut. Ini membuatnya ideal untuk penggunaan harian dengan berbagai kondisi jalan. Hal ini membuat oli Maxima menjadi pilihan terbaik untuk kenyamanan dan kestabilan berkendara sehari-hari.
