Abstract
The use of the internet allows devices to connect and interact, particularly through Internet of Things (IoT) technology in smarthome systems. This research focuses on the network security of IoT-based smarthomes, aiming to discover and mitigate security vulnerabilities in both the smarthome-home server and smarthome-remote server infrastructures, as well as to establish security requirement priorities. The method used is SQUARE, which combines several risk assessment methods and executes network threat scenarios. The results of this study show that both smarthome network architectures still have vulnerabilities that can be exploited using data sniffing, Denial of Service (DoS), and brute force techniques. Through the application of the SQUARE method, this research provides and establishes the following recommendations for system security: (1) install and configure a Cisco ASA security device by implementing a firewall and IDS, (2) use protocols that support data encryption mechanisms, and (3) change usernames and passwords periodically. Penggunaan internet memungkinkan perangkat saling terhubung dan berinteraksi, salah satunya melalui teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) dalam sistem smarthome. Penelitian ini mengarahkan fokus pada keamanan jaringan smarthome berbasis IoT dengan tujuan menemukan dan mengurangi celah keamanan pada infrastruktur smarthome-home server dan smarthome-remote server, serta menetapkan prioritas kebutuhan keamanan. Metode yang digunakan adalah SQUARE, yang menggabungkan beberapa metode risk assessment dan menjalankan skenario ancaman jaringan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua arsitektur jaringan smarthome masih terdapat titik kerentanan yang dapat dieksploitasi dengan menggunakan teknik data sniffing, DoS, dan brute force. Melalui penerapan metode SQUARE, penelitian ini memberikan dan menetapkan rekomendasi untuk keamanan sistem: (1) memasang dan mengonfigurasi perangkat keamanan Cisco ASA dengan menerapkan firewall dan IDS, (2) menggunakan protokol yang mendukung mekanisme enkripsi data, dan (3) melakukan perubahan username dan password secara berkala.
