Abstract

MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) is a rapidly growing sector that plays a crucial role in enhancing a city's competitiveness as a business and tourism destination. As one of Indonesia’s creative economy hubs, Bandung requires an innovative and sustainable MICE facility. The design of MICE KAI in Laswi, Bandung aims to create a convention center that is not only functional but also harmonizes with nature and local culture through a biophilic architectural approach. The biophilic architecture approach is applied to enhance user well-being by fostering a strong connection between humans and the natural environment. This concept is implemented through the optimization of natural lighting, cross ventilation, the use of eco-friendly materials, and the integration of green spaces within the building design. Biophilic elements such as inner courtyards, rooftop gardens, green facades, and water features are incorporated to create a comfortable and healthy atmosphere for users. The Laswi, Bandung location was selected due to its strategic accessibility and potential to support the growth of the MICE industry. This MICE facility is designed not only to accommodate the functional needs of convention and exhibition spaces but also to emphasize sustainability principles to minimize environmental impact and enhance energy efficiency. Through the biophilic concept, MICE KAI in Laswi is expected to become a green architectural icon that supports economic growth, improves urban environmental quality, and provides a healthier and more pleasant spatial experience for users. MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) merupakan sektor yang berkembang pesat dan memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan daya saing kota sebagai destinasi bisnis dan pariwisata. Kota Bandung, sebagai salah satu pusat ekonomi kreatif di Indonesia, membutuhkan fasilitas MICE yang inovatif dan berkelanjutan. Perancangan MICE KAI di Laswi, Bandung bertujuan untuk menciptakan pusat konvensi yang tidak hanya fungsional, tetapi juga selaras dengan alam dan budaya lokal melalui pendekatan arsitektur biofilik. Pendekatan arsitektur biofilik diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan pengguna dengan menciptakan hubungan yang erat antara manusia dan lingkungan alami. Konsep ini diimplementasikan melalui optimalisasi pencahayaan alami, ventilasi silang, penggunaan material ramah lingkungan, serta integrasi ruang hijau dalam desain bangunan. Elemen-elemen biofilik seperti inner courtyard, rooftop garden, green facade, dan elemen air dimanfaatkan untuk menciptakan suasana yang nyaman dan sehat bagi pengguna. Lokasi di Laswi, Bandung dipilih karena aksesibilitas yang baik serta potensinya dalam mendukung perkembangan industri MICE. Perancangan MICE ini tidak hanya memperhatikan kebutuhan fungsional ruang konvensi dan pameran, tetapi juga mengedepankan prinsip keberlanjutan untuk mengurangi dampak lingkungan dan meningkatkan efisiensi energi. Dengan konsep biofilik, MICE KAI di Laswi diharapkan dapat menjadi ikon arsitektur hijau yang mendukung perkembangan ekonomi, meningkatkan kualitas lingkungan perkotaan, serta memberikan pengalaman ruang yang lebih sehat dan nyaman bagi pengguna.
