Abstract
Internet adalah jaringan global di seluruh dunia di mana data, informasi, dan bahkan privasi menjadi bagian integralnya. Mengakses Internet hampir sama dengan menjelajahi informasi dunia. PT. APL adalah salah satu perusahaan di Indonesia yang bergerak di bidang penyedia jasa komunikasi data, Internet, dan layanan IT Services. PT. APL bekerja sama dengan Kominfo dalam mengelola Internet gratis berbasis Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) dan Fiber Optik untuk memberikan layanan aksesibilitas gratis kepada masyarakat nusantara serta meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia yang mengedepankan teknologi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, dilakukan analisis terhadap kinerja dan kualitas jaringan VSAT maupun Fiber Optik untuk mengevaluasi kualitas jaringan dengan menggunakan parameter-parameter yang diukur, seperti waktu tunda (latency), paket hilang (packet loss), kecepatan unggah (upload), dan unduh (download). Analisis ini dilakukan dengan mengacu pada standar yang ditetapkan oleh penyedia layanan terkait. The Internet is a worldwide global network where data, information and even privacy are an integral part. Accessing the Internet is almost the same as exploring world information. PT. APL is a company in Indonesia which operates in the field of providing data communication services, Internet and IT services. PT. APL is collaborating with Kominfo in managing free Internet based on Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) and Optical Fiber to provide free accessibility services to the people of the archipelago and improve the quality of human resources that prioritize technology. Based on this, an analysis is carried out on the performance and quality of the VSAT and Fiber Optic networks to transmit network quality using measured parameters, such as latency, packet loss, upload and download speeds. download). This analysis is carried out by referring to the standards set by the relevant service provider.
