Abstract
Taman Ismail Marzuki was declared a centerforthe arts in Jakarta by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Ali Sadikin on November 10, 1968 and was a new chapter in art at that time, Theater Arena and Exhibition Room. The TIM Arts Center is a creative working platform for artists and institutions involved in maintaining, developing and directing artistic life in the broadest sense possible. Limited land and the need for urban space that continues to increase is slowly changing its face and designation as an Arts Center. In accordance with the vision and mission of the PKJ TIM as the main place in supporting the development of artistic life in Jakarta in particular and Indonesia in general, PKJ TIM isrequired to actively improve artistic life by holding high-standard works of art and organizing high-standard art education aswell. For that in the future it is necessary to develop the PKJ TIM complex in order to strengthen the existence of the PKJ TIM as a center for high quality arts, whichcan attract the interest of the public to be able to enjoy art activities in it. Therefore, the comfort level of visitors must be considered, especially in the interior design of the theater. The interior design of a theater building has an important meaning for an art ortheater building because a good design will affect the comfort, impression and behavior of its users, Art Deco style is the style applied to this design, therefore it is hoped that the application of the art deco style will add to the aesthetics. a theater building and can affect the mood of the users in it. From the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it can be seen that by considering various aspects, especially the style or theme taken, it is hoped that users will feel comfortable when enjoying the show. Keywords: Performance, Theater, Art Deco Taman Ismail Marzuki dicanangkan sebagai pusat kesenian Jakarta oleh Gubernur DKI Jakarta Ali Sadikin tanggal 10 November 1968 dan merupakan babak baru dalam berkesenian kala itu.Teater Arena dan Ruang Pameran. Pusat Kesenian TIM merupakan wadah kerja kreatif bagi para seniman dan lembaga-lembaga yang ada di dalamnya dalam memelihara, mengembangkan, dan mengarahkan kehidupan berkesenian dalam arti yang seluas-luasnya. Keterbatasan lahan dan kebutuhan ruang kota yang terus meningkat secara perlahan-lahan mengubah wajah dan peruntukannya sebagai Pusat Kesenian. Sesuai dengan visi dan misi PKJ TIM selaku tempat yang utama dalam mendukung pengembangan kehidupan kesenian diJakarta khususnya dan Indonesia pada umumnya, maka PKJ TIM dituntut untuk secara aktif meningkatkan kehidupan kesenian dengan menggelar karya seni yang berstandar tinggi serta menyelenggarakan pendidikan kesenian yang berstandar tinggi pula. Untuk itu kedepannya perlu dilakukan pengembangan kompleks PKJ TIM guna memperkuat eksistensi PKJ TIM sebagai pusat kesenian yang bermutu tinggi, yang dapat menarik minat masyarakat untuk dapat menikmati kegiatan seni di dalamnya. Oleh karena itu tingkat kenyamanan pengunjung harus di perhatikan terutama pada desain interior gedung pertunjukan. Desain interior sebuah gedung teater memiliki arti penting bagi bangunan kesenian ataupun teater karena desain yang baik akan mempengaruhi kenyamanan, kesan, dan perilaku penggunanya, gaya Art Deco adalah gaya yang diterapkan pada perancangan ini, oleh karena itu diharapkan dengan penerapan gaya art deco akan menambah estetika suatu gedung teater dan dapat mempengaruhi mood pengguna yang ada didalamnya . Dari hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa dengan dilakukannya pertimbangan mengenai berbagai macam aspek terutama gaya atau tema yang diambil, diharapkan pengguna merasa nyaman ketika menikmati pertunjukan.
